Good Period of time to spread out 35+ Prep Test

Post by New_Spice180 » Sat Jun 25, 2016 9:39 am

Hey guys, I wanted to consult some of you seasoned LSAT takers about what's a good period of time to disburse 35 timed tests over? Initially I wanted to start PTing in Mid July but would that be too early? Or should I shoot for beginning of August (with one pt every other day for about a week and a half to two weeks and then ramp it up to a PT a day)? Another thing I'm basing my initial start date on is my improvement of logic games, I'm not completely perfect yet and I would like to hone my skills before I really take PTs timed and see where I should really be focusing. On a side note I'm shooting for the upper 170s.

I haven't been too much of a fan of PTing everyday until I'm confident I know the material and not just taking them to take them. PT with a purpose. Use them as tools to better tailor your study to what you're doing wrong and what you're doing right.

With that said make sure you're blind reviewing each PT you take (https://7sage.com/the-blind-review-how- ... at-part-1/). If you PT everyday and BR every day you'll probably wear yourself out and not get as much out of it. I usually PT every three or four days the month before the test and maybe weekly or after covering big concepts.

I hope that helped!

Yeah I agree with the advice above. Don't burn yourself out doing one every other day. I think 3-4 a week is good. 3 even better still. Don't mistake quantity for quality. Really take your time reviewing and studying patterns of questions you got wrong. Type out explanations for each question as to why the right answer is TCR and the 4 others are wrong. Breezing through 35 PTs quickly isn't going to do as much as spending more time with each.

You could spread it out to the next 12 weeks though. Just take 3 a week and 4 if you're not burned out.

Thanks for the concern guys! Also, yeah, I guess you all are right, but in regards to burnout, I've been studying about 30 hours+ every week for the lsat 10 weeks or so! I feel as though I have a good level of stamina to have deal with a test everyday. Additionally, I totally agree it's not quantity but quality; however, I'm thinking about easing into around about end of July then ramp it up to about 4 PT's till September-that is after I've gotten a feel for the test as a whole.
