Any advice on how to get past the 3 LSATs in 2 years limit?
I took my third LSAT in Feb 2015 so I won't be eligible to take it again until next February. I really would like to take it in September of this year but I don't know what to say when I write to LSAC. I don't have any legitimate reason other than I was really nervous and sleep deprived for the prior tests
. Anyone know what to say so that they waive the limit?

I've never heard of them doing it, and being sleep-deprived is certainly not a good enough reason. There are very few legitimately good excuses for urgently needing to take a test for a 4th time and not being able to wait several extra months - if you don't already have a compelling story making one up certainly isn't going to help you now or down the road.
Maybe take the extra time to work on your studying. Or don't go to law school because the LSAT is sadly the easiest hurdle to get over (not minimizing the stress of the exam, just pointing out that it doesn't get easier after this).

Unless you can retroactively go back and get in a serious car accident the day of one administration and have a close family member die the day before another administration, you're out of luck. (OBVIOUSLY this is a joke, and I am not saying you should make up any stories of catastrophe. Lying in the law school admission process is a terrible, terrible idea.)
Use the time wisely. Get a job, study, decide whether law school is actually for you.

No. They changed the old rule they had that allowed schools to petition for a 4th try. They must have had a good reason.aukitkat wrote:I took my third LSAT in Feb 2015 so I won't be eligible to take it again until next February. Maybe work hard on meditation to help deal with your anxiety. There are some great apps like Calm to help you.

I don't think you can, honestly. Just get some work experience and study harder for your next take.

That's not the way the 3 takes per 2 year period rule works. You can take it again once it has been 2 years since the FIRST of the three times you've taken it.aukitkat wrote:I took my third LSAT in Feb 2015 so I won't be eligible to take it again until next February...
Since your first two takes had to be in or before 2014, you are eligible to take it again sometime this year, perhaps as early as the upcoming June 2016 LSAT if the first time you took it was the June 2014 or an earlier administration.
The two year period is a moving time window, so you can take it again a fourth time once it's been two years since the first of your three takes since at that time it will no longer count against the limit because two years have passed and you'll only have two previous takes that fall within the previous two years time window. Make sense?
When was the first time you took it? If it was June 2014, you can take the upcoming June LSAT. If it was September 2014, then you can take the September test this year. Either way or if you first took it before June 2014, you're good and the coast is clear for you to take the September test this year without having to accomplish mission impossible by convincing LSAC to exempt you from the three takes in two years limit rule.
