I'd like to register for the June LSAT, but the nearest available test center within a 50 mile radius is about 88 miles and nearly 2 hours of driving away. 88 miles of driving is very close to meeting the 100 mile threshold on requesting a nonpublished test center. Should I just bite the bullet and register for the test center that's two hours away, or should I wait until it's closer to the registration deadline and hope that all test centers within 100 miles are unavailable so that I'm able to request a nonpublished center? Is it practically guaranteed that the request would be fulfilled, or would it be an unreasonable risk?
I'd be willing to make the drive if need be, but I'd certainly prefer to take the test at a center within a reasonable driving distance...

June LSAT is in the afternoon so if you had to pick one to drive to it would be the most convenient.
Trying to game the system would screw with my head too much during an already anxious event.

If you can find a cheap hotel or airbnb (and are serious about law school), I'd think that could be worth it tbh.

I think you'll drive yourself crazy if you try to wait it out. It sucks that the closest test center is so far away, but it'll give you peace of mind if you get the registration over with (plus you can move on and dedicate all your focus to prep).
I also echo foregetaboutdre's sentiment of looking for a hotel room near the test center, if you can afford it. This is something I did (test center was a 3 hour drive for me) and I think it helped keep me relaxed on the morning of test day.

If you're going to try that do it now. Remember that June is on a Monday. Many places that offer the LSAT may not have as many open spots for registration because the space/classrooms available are fewer. Some of those classrooms, auditoriums etc. may be occupied.
