Unless it's changed since December, you will need to affix a physical photo. I recommend just getting passport pics and saving the extra for in case of retake.

Is it a big deal if I take a selfie and upload it? Or should I go to Walgreens and pay for a photo?

From LSAC.org:
LSAT Admission Ticket Photo Requirements
In order to be admitted to the LSAT, every candidate must submit two forms of identification:

A government issued ID
A printout of your admission ticket that includes the photo that you uploaded through your LSAC online account.
The photo that you upload through your LSAC online account must meet the following requirements, or you will be denied entry to the test center.

The photo must have been taken within the last six months.
The photo must be clear, so that there can be no doubt about your identity.
Only your face and shoulders should be included in the photo (like a passport photo).
The uploaded photo must be a different photo than the photo that appears on the government-issued ID that you must take with you to the test center (do not scan or photograph your ID photo for uploading).
The uploaded photo must match your appearance on the day of the test (e.g., with or without beard).
To me that means you will not be required to have a physical picture, it's already on your ticket. I used a portrait from a wedding I attended, which I cropped into a head shot.

Yeah, I'm reading that the same way.

So it looks like a selfie (which includes the shoulders) would work? I don't really want to go through the hassle of Walgreens lol
