Over the last 4 years I've written a number of test-day mental state LSAT blog --mostly because I have talked to thousands of people since I started in this world in 1999 who said they wished they had been in a better state of mind of test day.

Here is one, ignore the dates it applies to you :)

One of the hardest parts of LR for me is quickly reading and understanding all the stims/arguments, and for repeats that element is eliminated.

I'd been sleeping in because of the flu, now my brain hasn't been letting me fall asleep at a decent hour. I woke up at 6:30 today and feel foggy af. I hope I can get this sorted out in the next couple of days lmao.
how much time you take to finish a 26q LR section? i find that i almost always run into time issues with 26q vs 25 q.

same issue with not falling asleep early enough.
I like to have it done a few min after the 30 min mark at the latest and then have time to look over the questions I circled. I take full-time often enough though, and occasionally run out.

Eta: Re sleep: Yeah I'm gonna try my best to knock myself back into at least a ~10pm-6am schedule for the next couple of days, then for the days immediately prior to the LSAT just make sure I'm getting enough sleep, doing the best I can for sleep schedule, because if I'm gonna be sleep deprived for the LSAT I'd rather it be too little sleep for one day then too little sleep for multiple days.

-1 on LR2 from 76. Marked two but didn't think it was too bad. So cumulatively, that's a 173, thanks to fucking over LR1 and LG.

When the spot you usually go to in the library is full of people and the bathroom on this floor is closed because of cleaning and your bladder is about to explode but you found a decently quiet spot and don't want to lose it

e: and the wifi is now just as slow as you moving through an RC section

-5 total so far.

don't think i can score RC at all.
you should redo the passages they messed you up on or something.
yeah, thinking of doing the RC today morning again. would have loved to see un-adulterated score if had a choice.

Anyone else changing their sleep schedule this week? Normally, I'm a 12:30am-7:30am sleeper, and for LSAT purposes, I'm trying to go 9pmish-5:30am. Today was the first day of that and it huuuurts.

Nope, i never felt the need to change my sleeping schedule for anything. I've always been the type where even if i get barely any sleep the night before, i still can properly function once i come to my senses

-2 on the June 2016 retake. One of the ones I got wrong was something I got right in the real thing which is annoying.

Gonna do some light drilling every day until Saturday and hope for the best on that fateful morning. Woke up at 11 today but I'll try to wake up at 645-7 the rest of the week. The tokens passage wasn't as hard the second time around but god dammit those questions were still difficult.

Decided on doing one section per day from 75 (my newest fresh test) and some untimed LG each day through Thursday. Got through LR1 -1 yesterday. RC this morning: -5. Nothing quite like the gentle eleventh-hour reminder that this test is whack. Channeling my inner Spivey today to stay calm and collected...

I am the total opposite. If I don't get at least 6.5-7 hours (preferably 8 ), then I am a total piece of shit all day.

Presumably you can do a fourth take in June 2017?

Thinking a lot more seriously about postponing apps and graduation for a year, then spending a year abroad. It would also mean that I could retake anything below a 175, which is a good feeling.

Omg these 2 chicks near me have an LR section and are going over some questions. Lol good luck to them!

On that note, I'm going over again on some LR questions from the more recent PTs that I've gotten wrong and struggled with.

Tbh, it weirds me out when people in real life are taking the LSAT. For some reason, in my head it's an obscure internet thing that only TLS people know about.

RIGHT?!?!? It's so weird. When I interned this summer, there were a few people there also taking the Sept. LSAT, and one of them taking it at my school (he goes where I go as well for college and TC for the LSAT). One of them was actually pretty good at this test, constant 170+ scoring but his issue was timing on games and could only finish 3 games but do amazing on all other sections. He showed me how he does RC and it just wasn't my cup of tea, but he wrecks that section so good for him!

Idk how people group study for the LSAT. I tried it with another guy there and it was just.. idk.. weird. Like I guess it can be helpful to see how someone else reasoned through something, but i feel like this is the kind of test where you really just have to do it on your own and not have someone interfering with the way you reason and figure shit out on your own (aka BR).
