Not mad about it, but hoping I can do a little bit better on PT 78 tomorrow...and then hopefully have a slightly-better-than-usual test day next Saturday. Think I need to literally drill like 1000 flaw and must be true questions because those are definitely the types which are still giving me the most shit. Anyone got have any breakthrough experiences on those question types?

Also, that third LG was ridiculous. I figured it out and didn't let it freak me out too bad, but I'm disappointed I missed 2 on it. Def gonna redo that one a few times.
Rc misses? How did you find psg-3?

P3 screwed me in dec, I spent around 8 mins only reading the two comparatives in it. Couldn't make any sense of it and randomly guessed on its last 3-4 qs.
Both of my RC misses were on P4.

Honestly, I have really turned a corner with comparative passages lately, been feeling really comfortable with them in general. One of the main things I think has helped me on comparative is really internalizing the fact that these are two short passages, and they have less room to tie seemingly unrelated things together like difficult long passages tend to, rather than considering them to be two halves of one huge, overwhelming passage. It really helps me move efficiently throughout the passages when I need to refer back.

Also, the fact that it's a history/politics passage helped me; those are usually my best. Science passage, on the other hand, always trip me up somehow. I missed question #21 and #22, which, looking back on them, really don't seem so hard. Blergh.

Does anyone have a succinct explanation of PT 77, LR2, #22?
[+] Spoiler
I understand why A is correct, but I can't really articulate why B (which is the answer I chose) is wrong. "Everyone should have access to more than one newspaper" really reads like a conclusion here, and of course B annoyingly exploits that. What am I missing?
Also, did I mention that flaw questions can go fuck themselves?

"Everyone should have access to more than one newspaper" is the conclusion. B is wrong because the argument doesn't overlook the possibility that even 2 newspapers could not provide complete coverage of an important story. the argument only assumes that 1 newspaper wouldn't provide complete coverage, so you need at least two.

GODDAMNIT
Just realised that the reason I got dicked over by PT73G4 yesterday is because I managed to miss a rule that changes the setup completely, spent 15 mins on it yesterday and got a -3, could have been an easy -0 in 10 mins had I not missed it.

Thanks! That's helpful. I need to drill every flaw question that ever was.

what specific ways do you change your reading due to bolded?
i found gender comparative psg in 77 and the free will comparative passage in the other 70s PTs very hard.

PT 72 - 175

Yea-- LG4 was just really foreign at first and it took me time to figure out what was going on, but I had a good amount a time to think about it because I blew through the first 3 games. Ended up getting only -1 in LG and it was from Game 4 (had to rush on the last 2 questions and inevitably got one of them wrong). All i have been doing was LG drilling this week (a RC packet or 2) and overall this section was by far my best performance in LG out of any of my PTs. The test overall felt really fluid and I was the most confident I have been. Doesn't hurt also that I just achieved my goal of 175 :P. went -2 pretty much on everything and -1 in games. Taking one in the AM again. Lets see if I can beat the record and join 175+ club. Also I only did 4 sections, tomorrow gunning for 5 and a 6-section on Sat.

RC: -2
LR: -2
LR: -2
LG: -1

Haven;t looked at a writing section once yet, but I am great at essays under pressure. I know it doesnt matter a whole lot, but I will prob do one this week just because I am very A-personality and if I can be more comfortable with it, I rather it that way lol

Went out of town to a friend's place in the country to get out of my life and study hard/PT my face off.

Pro: silence, quiet, minimal cell reception.
Con: would rather sit quietly with a cup of tea looking at the land and considering my future.

Discipline and solidarity, friends! I cannot believe this is in a week.

I always think it's a good idea for anyone who has a lot on their mind or just simply wanting to relax to just go somewhere nice (the land in your case) and just sit there and chill, think, maybe throw back some tequila shots. To each his own.

I literally forgot there was a writing sample last week. It took me a minute to remember what the 6th section was. I guess I should actually look at a few before the test

Driving me crazy having the LSAT looming and not being able to study. I hope my immune system can buck up and deal with this soon. :?
I'm feeling a bit better (knock on wood) so I might try to do some drilling today.

Anyone of you other aspiring lawlyers ever lurk in the "employment" thread sometimes and just read people's experiences in certain firms, etc.?

Or am I the only gunner that does this?

Nah I'm obsessed with them. I love it. It's an interesting perspective on the other side/satisfying gossip/a nice peek at another aspect of all of this madness.

Also since it's relevant I feel less procrastinatey about it all than most of the rest of the internet.

yeah I do it all the time. plus knowing more about employment can never be a bad thing.

edit: Above the Law is also great

one of the cool features is the "top Biglaw employers" they have for each school: http://abovethelaw.com/schools/duke-law/

Heading home. Going to get home, have lunch, chill for a little bit and then get into PT78!! I'm actually hyped to take it because I know I'm going to do so much better on it then I did for actual administration.

I think I'm going to meditate the morning of test day. Sounds all spiritual and shit, but when I first started attacking RC, I was meditating and I felt like it helped, but I haven't done it in a while. Anyone meditate?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
