Google says you're right! Kind of weird wording by the LSAC there, it's not exactly an everyday sort of phrase.

What up dude??

Good. My last five have been above 175 so, I expect I'll botch game time (standard) but still write a respectable 170-171.

It's great to see things progressing for you as well. I fully expect to be begging you, Mikey, Pretzel and Jeeves for jobs 20 years down the road after you all graduate from HYS and become hiring partners at all the V20 firms with badass "of council" compensation packages. 8)
ayyy good for you! i'm sure you'll nail it. yeah, i'm just hoping i don't f this one up!

HA!! i'm thinking the situation will be reversed, you're like the definition of a well rounded candidate. i'll be more present in the c/o 2020 page after this test is over. how's the scene over there?

This is going to sound arrogant (sorry about that), but I think it's probably a healthy mindset for this test:

I know that I haven't failed a section due to time in 4-5 months. I also know I'm consistently PTing well into the 170's. So, when I run into a question or a group of questions that bog me down time wise, I tell myself to chill and take all the time I need to answer them correctly.

Why? Well, as I see it, I'll be a top 1 or 2 percent tester and top 1 or 2 percent testers don't have timing issues. So, I proceed with confidence regardless of what's thrown at me. If I hit a slow patch, I accept that's how the test is written (there have to be "discriminator" questions) and I know it means that some "gimme" questions are just ahead I can breeze through.

Now, I fully admit this perspective is hyper-confident, but I think a hyper-confident attitude is needed to succeed on this damn LSAT. If you know you're good and "play the game" accordingly, you're less likely to get flustered or rattled. That's a good thing. It also allows you to find your center and get into a flow.

Works for me, anyway. /TonyRobbins
Makes sense. Yeah timing hasn't been an issue for me in a while in LR. I tend to get to a question and if i need to read it two to three times very carefully i can afford too. I was just curious because still you can lose track of time and for top test-takers, i wondered what the guideposts were if any.

So, I've decided that as long as I get 173+, I'm definitely applying this October.

What would be your retake cutoff? Anything below 173 or is there kind of a grey zone?

I am curious to know this too and your logic. 173 is H and Y median, right? I wonder how big of difference in admissions 170-172 vs. 173+ could be in HYS applications. of course the higher you score the better off you are, but I would probably apply and if i didnt get in take again? I don't know. I guess there is no true telling because that is the median and although that is generally a good gauge of where you should score at...there is still half the class that scored below that mark. There definitely is a big difference in those LSAT scores and I am sure it is taken into account in admissions at schools accordingly..

IDk maybe someone more familiar with the matter could advise us.

Aiming for the median kinda requires a GPA near or above median. Granted, there is half the class that scored below the median but they can be reverse splitters with a GPA way above average that makes up for it, there will be some people with GPA and LSAT both below median but then they might have astonishingly good softs.

I basically put my numbers into mylsn.info and checked at which point my chance of getting in goes above 50/50 and picked that as my target, dunno if that gives me anything sensible though.

Yeah makes total sense. I read that you basically need 1 or the other above median to continue to the next stage of review essentially.

Well.. Another PR today!!

PT 62: 174 :D :D :D :D

I didn't get a chance to do an experimental-- had a full day studying for class.

RC: -2
LR: -4
LG: -2
LR: -1

Over all, extremely pleased. It seems as I made some stupid mistakes compared to usual and I still went -2 in games even though thats all i have been drilling since last PT. Although, I did notice much more ease in the LG section and it was just 1 game that through me off. I am getting to a better true foundational understanding because even though I go consistently under -3 and have gone -0 before, I can crush games most of the time, but here and there is that one change in initial setup or an odd question that throws me off and im like fuckkkk. Nonetheless, improving each day and if I scored 174 on Test Day I'd be super pumped.

Keep on grinding!! 2 weeks out mates (Tech less than now, but still) Lets get it

I saw it in the LR question about drinking alcohol after I had already eliminated 4 other answer choices so I had to google it to make sure it didn't mean "in moderation"

Yep exactly the same. #splittersunite

It's a bit weird, cos I'm an international without a reportable GPA. My grade (a 2:1 in UK terms) translates to about 3.7 but the LSAC evaluation will just say Above Average. Just a couple of days ago I noticed a TLSer getting in HLS with the same Above Average eval and a 172 (softs seem average), and I've heard all sorts of speculations on what schools tend to do with people like us so not entirely sure what exactly is a safe score. 175+ should definitely give me a good enough chance at most places tho.

Ah, I see. That's definitely a tricky situation. Yeah, however the conversion works out, a 175+ would give you a very solid application.

just BR'd pt-73 RC and pleasantly surprised to find that I had gone -5 on RC instead of -6. that ties my best RC on a fresh 70s PT and brings my 73 score up one point to 169. nothing compared to RC perfections on this thread, but i'll take it.
