if you are going to start studying before you get your score, at least give yourself a week off!

I'm sure if you explained to your professors the importance of the LSAT they will let you take whatever quizzes/tests they assign either before or after the week of the LSAT.etramak wrote:Same here! Graduating in December. I think I'll just be re-taking some of the more recent exams on the weekend in July and August and then finally retake the test I took this afternoon before the real thing in September. Usually professors hit me with tests/quizzes the last week of September so I'm just hoping I can juggle both.Doubting Law wrote:I'll be in my last semester of undergrad in September, but I'm only taking 13 credits so hopefully it doesn't conflict too much with my last minute cramming/prepping for the LSAT. This is also why I'm trying my best to get as much prep done this summer before the Fall semester starts.etramak wrote:Hey everyone! Just signed up to re-take at the September date. I exhausted all of the PT material so I'm going to have to figure out an effective way to study regardless but I look forward to talking with all of you in the process. Anyone else here still gonna be in undergrad classes in september? I'm hoping this doesn't cause too much conflict.

Decided I'm going to do one full length PT every Saturday until the actual exam. That way, the real test will feel like another PT.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - STEADY GRINDN' (new pole)
Okay so I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on which PT's to use in our studies. Someone recommended to only do 50-onward, while others have mentioned to start with much earlier PT's first.
I plan to use these next 2 weeks to review and drill, and then begin to take 1-3 PT until September 24. I'm leaning towards starting with PT 52-61 (since they come in a 10 PT bundle on Amazon), is this a good idea? What PT are you guys using?

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - STEADY GRINDN' (new pole)
Just took PT 39 (untimed): LG -3; LRa - 3; RC -6(!); and LRb - 5. Converted score was a 167 (highest yet, but untimed PTs are a completely different game than timed ones).
Anyways, did anyone else who has done the RC for PT 39 find the Fairy Tale passage extremely difficult? Overall this was the hardest RC section I've seen (albeit I haven't done many PTs just yet).
Off to blind review (although LSAT studying is now getting in the way of showering).

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - STEADY GRINDN' (new pole)
I have studied and reviewed for about 3 months of light prep (1-2 hours, 4-5 days), however I'm buckling down this Summer. I am enrolled in 7Sage's online curriculum, read a good amount of the PS bible series, and I will be enrolled in an in-person Powerscore course beginning July 5th. I've also taken 2 PT's, and scored quite pathetically.amta wrote:have you taken any PTs previously? is this your first time studying? are you taking a class? what other materials are you using? please advise.cgra1916 wrote:Okay so I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on which PT's to use in our studies. So which PT's would be best to begin with from now up until September? Ideally I'd like to take 1 every week, then 1-3 leading to September.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - STEADY GRINDN' (new pole)
60 to 78. Try to stay away from questions you've already drilled. Blueprint takes most of their HW questions from the 40s and 50s, so if i was to do tests in the 40s and 50s i may artificially inflate my score. Stay away from really low PTs as the test has changed dramatically since PT 1, i usually use really low PT sections for my experimental during PTs. Start in the high 50s and low 60s now and move up to the 70s and try to take 78 right before the test. I would advise you not to lean on classes so heavily and instead take the ideas and strategies you like and apply them in a way that works for you. im a firm believer that you have to find a personal strategy for your LSAT experience. You likely won't have time to take 3 PTs a week if you're in a classroom course, but you can definitely try.cgra1916 wrote:I have studied and reviewed for about 3 months of light prep (1-2 hours, 4-5 days), however I'm buckling down this Summer. Hey man thanks a bunch! Very insightful advice. I understand what you're saying with taking several courses, however my plan is to take what I can get from them, and try to at the same time prioritize taking PT's blind reviewing, and drilling. From now up until the second week of August I have absolutely no other obligations but the LSAT anyway.amta wrote:60 to 78. Try to stay away from questions you've already drilled. Thanks again for your advice. I think I will go ahead and start by purchasing PT 52-61 on Amazon, then i'll purchase the 62-71 bundle. Appreciate you, best of luck and we'll see you around here!

Started drilling sequencing games last night. Went -0 in 3 of 4. They were easy games and I went over time on two of them, but still feeling pretty good about that start.

Will you guys be waking up early for the Saturday prep tests? I've heard people advise this but I don't want to ruin Friday night for the next 12 weeks.

What's that theory or idea where you should take the tests in the same state of mind that you studied/prepared?
Take LSAT hungover = profit.
Just started to drill through cambridge packets. Did about 6-8 of the basic linear ones. Going to do a few more then BR... the games are really quick... averaged 5-6 min except one took me longer, and another I finished in 7 minutes barring one question which was super easy and just a really stupid/dumb oversight.

feels weird going through Manhattan LG so fast. it literally took me forever just to read one chapter in the Trainer, so much text on 1 page.
