June 2012 PT 66 today...

ACT: RC [exp] -2; LR1 -2; LG -4; LR2 -3; RC -2; 89/100; 169
BR: RC [exp] -2; LR1 -1; LG -0; LR2 -1; RC -2; 96/100; 177

Kind of irritated, as I definitely had seen a few of the RC passages... I think two in the actual section that I barely finished (had someone start talking pretty loud during it) and I think one in the experimental section...

LR felt pretty good though...I finished the first LR with like 4-5 minutes to check over anything and I finished the second LR somewhat similarly but with not as much time (talkers)... LG was really irritating though. I just didn't follow my strategy properly.

I contend that LR1 June 2012 PT #13 is a bad question.

Apparently misbubbled 5??? I'm not sure how that happened since I don't generally have issues with misbubbling. welp, that's scary. So -2 really, which is a relief.

I switched an answer about the authors' attitude from approval to indifferent at the end, because I realized the author never really speaks as themselves . Learning my lesson to go with my gut on these interpretive-ish questions, and only change an answer afterwards if I see that it's definitely wrong.
pt #?
48. But not within a PT, just as drilling.
are you guys still drilling old pt sections?

i feel esp for RC, older sections are much much easier.

Just finished BRing PT70. Yeah idk why this PT made me feel like a moron and incompetent af with the LSAT. Did a 2 day review for it but I'm glad it's out the way.

PT69 tomorrow afternoon when I come back from class!

I am, at least - old and new, every day when I'm not doing a PT. I'm one of the few that hasn't really noticed a huge difference between older and newer RC, but I haven't done an entirely new older RC section in forever, so I'm not very well equipped to compare.

Definitely PT-ing this weekend, bedridden or not. Didn't get a chance to do LR because by the time I got around to it the party in the parking area by my apt building was going full blast and my head was on fire, so lots of LR tomorrow. Really need to get back into doing PTs regularly. :?

In addition to the second fever in a month, I seem to have sprained my ankle, so no more jogging. Jfc, what I have done to do deserve this. :|

Just completed my first PT of the day. Misbubbled an answer on LG, which is the SECOND TIME that has happened this week. I need to be more careful, and start taking the last minute of each section to check bubbling.

176 with the misbubble, 177 without.

You bubble in answers after each question, in clusters, or at the end?

In clusters. So, for LG, after each game. I also try to review the section if I have time.

If we live in a town of 1000 people and there is enough water in the town to meet the needs of 1,000,000 people then you would think that we should have no water shortages, even if the population doubles or triples. But if 99.9% of that water is in my swimming pool, which is guarded by rottweilers, then the rest of you peasants will suffer from water shortages. The water is still there, it's just all in the region of my pool.

Hmm that actually makes sense, thanks!!
JY's explanation for it was similar but the way he said it for this question didn't make much sense to me, nor did the explanation on Manhattan.

Thanks!

Thats really a tough game to do under game day conditions, and this is coming from a math/science person
I'm too much of a puss to do that game

I took that test. As soon as I saw that game I knew I was retaking.

Taking LR sections yesterday I went -6 or so on each and every single one I got wrong was because I chose the wrong one between the last two. This continues to be a problem for me. Every. Single. One. So today isn't a PT day after all, turns out, it is a re-re-re-review of the basics and figuring out why I am getting suckered or if there are any consistencies to the kinds of questions that are throwing me. I'm going to the library to look at the PS LR bible; I've been in the LSAT Trainer for a minute but it still isn't sticking for whatever reason. :? :( :x

On the plus side, I am finally within 3 questions of finishing the games in time, and -0 on the qs I am getting to. IT'S WORKING. Jesus.

At least RC and I are on very solid ground. (-1, -2) You might think this would translate to good LR but you would be wrong. Not sure why. Ugh.

I think if you start now you'll be adapted to it by test time. I remember when I went from working 3p-11p to working 6a - 2:30p and it took me 2-3 weeks to get more comfortable waking up at 4:30am

Just did my second PT. Got a 176. Oddly enough, I missed 5 LR, and no RC or LG, which is weird for me.

I felt myself getting tired on the LR, so I think I should shorten my warmup a bit.

When I have had to wrench my schedule around for work before, it's taken me about a week to get fully acclimated depending how many hours I had to offset. The rule for jet lag is 1 day per time zone I believe which kind of applies here. The hardest part for me was getting to sleep on time at night. It's important so you get enough hours in; further, without it, your brain sleep cycles don't readjust so you're waking up in the wrong part of your sleep* and that always leaves me a mess.

It'll get better. You have enough time to work slowly. Let it settle and then scoot it back another hour. Hydrate, stay active, and find rituals for telling your body "it is time to slow down now" (tea, read a book, whatever feels good) as well as "it is time to wake up now." (Shower, coffee, 10 jumping jacks.) That will help a ton.

* DANGER: science used anecdotally without full understanding of the theories described.

Would you describe your science as poetry in motion?

I feel like I'm odd... I tend to find that rule substitution questions are some of the easiest/quickest on the test.

Today is a bit modified. I'm taking today a bit easier. I'll do some more RC passages and some LR before actually relaxing for a bit.

Doing not-too-well on easy PTs is so frustrating. Finished 69 before class this morning. Really easy LG and LR but I screwed up a bunch anyways. Going to BR after class and see what happened.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
