I'm starting to get disheartened. I'm getting worse and worse, especially in regard to RC. I don't know where to go from here.
Had timing issue? Which ones you missed?
Not at all timing issues-- in fact, I finished most 5 minutes before it was over. I think my head is just foggier because I haven't been taking care of myself (sleeping, not drinking, exercising, eating healthily, etc). I think once you sort of understand the test, things like that matter way more.

Got through a set of ID the flaw and Strengthen/Weaken questions. Going to do at least two sets of logic games tonight.
Honestly still get way too many of these LR questions wrong. Ergh. -_-
Feel like I've had a bit of an unproductive day but whatever.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WELCOME JUNE WAITERS
Thanks guys. I just finished reviewing RC. I was going to do another set of Science passages tomorrow, but I think I'll do the Memory method lesson tonight along with a wide variety of passages. I hope it works!!TheMikey wrote:Yeah it's a great method, and does take a while to get used to, which is why I'm kind of basing my improvement on the large amounts of passages I've done in little time hahaYupSports wrote:I, too, can vouch for The Memory Method.ngogirl12 wrote:RC was a flop. I'm seriously thinking of hitting up the memory method since Mikey keeps vouching for it. My accuracy went up by 1 question, but still is not where I want it to be. I don't understand all of a sudden these last few days my RC just went down. Sigh.
So plan for today:
Review RC passages
Check out the Memory method on 7Sage
Watch the Trainer RC video
LG
I was going to do some LR but I'm not sure if I can get all of the above in AND LR. I might push LR to tomorrow, because I don't want to neglect LG and I really need to get this stupid RC down.
It isn't easy to learn quickly (it takes a lot of drilling) but it is very effective.
How long did it take you to see substantial progress? A few days? A week? Several weeks?

Tfw you do a few LG sets to unwind, and somehow hit a mapping game you've never seen before.
Another LG set, an LR set, and then something that's not the LSAT for a bit.
eta: lol nvm. i'm tired & my attention span is shot. done for today.

Debating whether or not to try the 7sage memory system. It seems like it'd just be a waste of semi-fresh material, ya know? But at this point I'll try anything. Thoughts?

does anyone 'play' music in their head when they're taking a PT or drilling? I always do this without even trying to. it's weird lol but I like it.

I'm reading about it now. It looks intriguing and somewhat promising. I share your concern about using up fresh material, though. I wonder if one could take LSAT length passages and practice on those, but obviously LSAT passages are typically formatted in specific ways, and such.SweetTort wrote:Debating whether or not to try the 7sage memory system. I will probably give it a shot, though, or it at least use it as an exercise now and then, if not as my permanent RC method.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WELCOME JUNE WAITERS
Hey guys, I'm a non-native speaker who has been studying since the last week of June. I've started with LR, I went through once LRB and then I started to take old PTs' LR sections. I did around 40 sects and now I'm doing -1/-0 untimed, (42-43 min) and around -3 timed. I've already been grinding around 5 hours each day and I plan to continue like that until the exam, but didn't even touch LG and RC. I'm shooting for the highest score that I'm capable of--just as everyone
. I've two questions, first where do I stand realistically in terms of potential score? (I never did a cold, but other sections aside, at least could you say that my performance on LR indicates a good chance for high 170s?) And more importantly, what would be your recommendation for my further studies? Would it be better for me to set aside LR for now and concentrate on LG rather than continuing to take old LR sections until I'm capable of hitting timed -1/-0 consistently? Thanks in advance.

You should set aside LR and focus on LG and RC. They're just as important as LR even though LR is half the test, you don't want to leave these two sections until last minute. RC can take time to improve on so definitely catch it early on if it's a weakness for you. LG is easy points once you get used to it, and it's the quickest to improve on, respectively. Go between both sections I would say, because as mentioned before, one of these two might be a weakness for you so you definitely want to catch it since we're getting closer to the exam.BloodOrange wrote:Hey guys, I'm a non-native speaker who has been studying since the last week of June. You've been doing very well on RC, I think your current method of whatever you do is what you should stick to. Unless you just want to explore the method with much much earlier passages.SweetTort wrote:Debating whether or not to try the 7sage memory system. Not sure what days but definitely 2/week. I'm going to start with no experimental section for the first few, then work my way to doing 5 section w/ experimental. My experimentals will first be LG, then LR, and then finally just doing RC experimentals since that's my worst case scenario on test day and really accelerated test day fatigue for me in June.jagerbom79 wrote: What's your PT schedule going to look like? Did some more role/argument part questions this morning and bombed half of them. WTF, I wasn't even skeptical about this either, I thought I wrecked these questions but I freaking guess not! Ugh, these should be easy points, this shouldn't be happening, seriously.
eta: ok i slightly exaggerated when I said I bombed half, i got 12/17 so -5.
2 of the ones I got wrong were the highest difficulty and I just couldn't understand them, the other 3 I'm very surprised I got wrong.

I agree with Mikey on this. I would suggest to definitely start working on LG/RC. You're certainly doing well on LR, and with practice testing you'll become more consistent, and through blind review, more accurate.TheMikey wrote:You should set aside LR and focus on LG and RC. As of now, I don't have any idea if you'd score in the 170s. If you can get almost every LG question and less than -4 or so misses on RC, I think that would put you in the 170s. Assuming you meant -3 for both section of LR.

Day Off today! WOOOOO. you know what that means, PT66.
Gunna do some light prep for warm up. maybe half of each type of section and then dominate a 5 section timed. Need to get a better watch though, mine doesnt have a wheel for timing or anything.
