To people who have full time job and are full time students: any tips on how to better juggle it all?
What I'm doing now is: GPA>Job>LSAT, but do at least a bit of LSAT every day.

How much time do you usually spend studying per day? And do you do mostly timed practice or untimed? I'm curious to hear how much material you go through in an average week and how you divide it up. For instance, do you ever go through and look for a specific question type and answer only those questions from a PrepTest? Or do you do all your question-type practice out of prep books like the Bibles? If so, doesn't it bother you when you see those same questions in PrepTests later on?

I occasionally post on a few of the threads here, so just introducing myself to the December cadre. My name's Travis and I've been tutoring the LSAT off and on for about 10 years. I check this forum regularly and would be happy to answer anyone's questions about specific problems, pacing, test day concerns, etc...

I got my JD from NYU in 2009 and have been living in Northern California for the past 7 years. Currently, I work for a company called Magoosh, writing an online prep course for the LSAT.

It's in its infancy, so there's not a ton to look at right now, but I'll be updating it regularly with helpful info. I plan about 2h per day but in reality it works out to about 1h... Depends on amount of HW from my undergrad. It's not easy juggling full-time job, full time undergrad, and LSAT prep. But I knew it'll be that way and that's why I gave myself enough time to slowly go through with it without time pressure.

I'm impressed that you're able to commit that much time daily with a full-time job and school. That's awesome.

Out of curiosity, are you concerned about working through all the material early on in your prep period? Let's say you had access to all 77 released PrepTests. If you completed them under timed conditions, it would take you 180 hours to answer every available LSAT question out there. Presumably you're not doing them all timed and so it will take you a lot longer than that, but are you eventually planning on repeating a lot of questions or are you using non-LSAC questions? What would be your ideal materials to have available (short of LSAC magically releasing a bunch of new LSATs)?

I'm asking because I'm curious what people who study for longer than about 6 months use to extend their materials.

And by the way, thanks for checking out the Magoosh blog. You're right that it's a new development so we're still amassing content, but the good thing is that we're really responsive to students' requests while in our infancy. So if there's anything you or anyone else would like to see, let me know.

Magoosh, I'm also trying to stretch my study, since I'm not taking until September. I figured I would just drill mt arse off until I have about 4 months left, then hit the LSAT Trainer 16 week schedule. 20+ PT's from there on. Does that sound reasonable?

I guess I'll probably squeeze in one PT per week the first couple months, just to make sure I'm on the right pace and not too off in any one area.

I'm also planning on taking the December 2016 LSAT. I work part time along with school, but in my case, I get to study at work since I'm not busy for 5-6 hours per shift. I have breaks in between classes and take the Manhattan prep course once a week.

Just wondering what you guys think about my plan thus far:
Go through the Bibles and Manhattan Strategy guides, doing all of the drills, practice questions, and reviewing each as I go along.

After finishing those books, begin to drill extensively from the Cambridge drill packets, starting off untimed for accuracy, and then slowly implementing time into my regiment.

Finally, in the months leading up to the exam, PrepTests timed would be the one and only thing I'll be doing (with review of course).

Does this sound like a solid game plan guys? I scored similar on my cold diagnostic as OP, but I'm not keeping that in mind during my prep.

I'm in the same boat full time job plus undergrad, that's why I started early. Only taking 4 credits over the summer and 12 in the fall so should have more time to do LSAT, all STEM credits though...

Spring was tough 16 STEM credits don't work well with LSAT lol, barely finished a few books. And now need to get some A+'s to compensate for one B I have.

You should consider a career in patent law! From what I understand, STEM majors are a rarity in law school - well I may be exaggerating a bit there, but you get the idea - especially with the fact that one must have a STEM major even to sit for the patent bar. Thus, if you were to go to a T-14 and pass the patent bar, you'd have no trouble finding a job.

I took a different approach. I didn't even think about the LSAT much during undergrad; in fact, I just graduated last month. I chose to focus on my GPA since I didn't want to fall into a situation of being a splitter. Now I'm working at a law firm as a PA, so I'm hoping the hours aren't too crazy. Either way, for you, I think you're in excellent shape since law schools will note that you were a STEM major (universally understood to be a challenging major(s)). You have the unique advantage of having your school offer A+'s, my school didn't. We only had A-'s and on average the minimum one needed to get an A was around 97%, which is probably why they didn't see a point in having A+'s being offered, but still, I wish they had because my LSAC GPA would be higher.

Definitely, not STEM, or I'd be gunning for patent law. My undergrad was in the humanities - specifically Political Science and History - with a minor in Pre-Law. Disclaimer: I do know humanities is seen as a pathetic field as well as Pre-Law, but I just took those, because I just love those subjects and the subject matter, so it was easier for me to enjoy my undergrad experience. I nearly did go into Accounting and Business, but I decided at the last moment not to.

However, I'll be trying to get into IP law - just not the specialized area of patent law sadly - but that's life. IP law is supposedly the hottest thing right now, plus I"ll be working as a PA for the IP lawyers/paralegals, so I figured I'd just build on that during law school. What is your dream school - imagine if you could get into any law school - what would it be?

For me, it's U of Chicago with Yale a close second, because I've heard the academia is excellent.
