Adaptiation-70+ RC specifically

Post by sd1111 » Sun Nov 29, 2015 6:05 am

I've read and even posted a topic regrding the newer PTs. Thanks for other OPs and LSATers who gave us suggestions, I personally achieved my former level regarding my LR. However, the RC is still mysterious. I regularlly missed 4~6 questions on older PTs (I am a non-native speaker), however, with PT 70+, I regularly missed -7~-10. My hope is to limit my missing questions to 6~8, then I can achieve my goal.

My plan is to continue to do the PT 70+ and practice PT 60~70 for RC section particullaly. My LG is fine though I will definitely work on it in the last few days.

Any suggestions for RC improvement?

Further, if anyone who would like me to share some...well...experiences regarding the adaptation in LR, I would like to help. I missed -8~-10 per section of LR for PT 70+ and within 4 days I scored the normal standard, which is -4~-6 in total 2 LRs. (Though the performances is not good enough but adaptation may be helpful to you)

Hi,I have similar problems with you. I find my weak spot in RC is scientific passage(I lose patience frequently), so I am trying to read some more scientific passages. I think maybe you can check is there any particular type that causes trouble.
By the way, could you share some experience about the LR? :D In the 70s, I miss 2-3 questions in the first 15 question, which never happened before.

Wow, that helps a lot !!! I can see now that I did a pretty bad review work. I definitely need to do more analysis and drilling.

Yeah, I encountered that problem before (missing questions before question 15). My method is simple. Firstly, I analyzed why I made the questions wrong-because of the language? Did not pay enough attention to the words? Modifier of the conclusion was ignored?etc. After reviewing like these, I found out the "mistaken pattern", which means, for PT 72 73 74, I always made the same mistakes. Them, I re-organize all the questions based on the same mistaken pattern, and review them again. This step makes me feel much better and more confident about how to tackle my weakness. After these step, I am more familiar with the "Style" of newer PTs, like what are the normal trap of newer PTs, what type of questions are more difficult now, what kind of skills newer PTs focus on. That helps lot. Meanwhile, I checked my former missing questions from cambridge by type. Say, I realized my weakness of PT 70+ are weakness and strengthen, I re-read the 7sage/Bible of such types and do the cambridge by type drill again. So, basically speaking, my method is just write my own BY TYPE for PT70+. Hope that helpful.

RC.....I would not address more how tourture it is...................................................
