Full time job vs. feb LSAT

Post by Sciencemeetslaw » Wed Nov 18, 2015 1:19 pm

Hi all,

I just would like to hear some advice from you guys on how to balance between a full time job and the LSAT. I'm currently working full-time, and registered for the Feb. LSAT 2016. I'm feeling very overwhelmed as I usually work from 9am-6pm, and would only arrive home by 8pm, without yet having dinner and stuff. So i'm just wondering with that little time left everyday, how exactly should I balance my work vs. LSAT study? E.g. How many hours should I dedicate to studying each day, and throughout the weekend? What should I study each day?

I'm currently on the stage which I already know all the basics about the LSAT, and I'm currently just working on timed PTs. I feel that drilling on individual parts don't work that well for me anymore, as usually I can pretty much understand all my mistakes after I review my timed PTs the second time, and usually one problem I am having is not being able to finish all the questions. I'm scoring between a 154-161 currently. Usually I cannot finish the LR and RC sections (can only do three RC passages, can do only up to question 20-21 for LR). My target score is not super high, I want to get around a 160, and preferably a bit higher, like in the range 160-165 range.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance!! :)

If you're only scoring a 161 you haven't drilled enough to start taking timed PTs. Consistently not finishing sections that way isn't a timing issue it's an understanding issue. Keep drilling.

You can do sectional practice during weekday nights and timed PTs during weekends.

I work full-time with a similar schedule, and this is exactly what I do. I do a section at lunch, go over incorrect questions and ones I was on the border with at home, and then a full PT and review on weekends.

But maybe you should wait till June to take the test? Why the rush?
