Missed test deadline, now what do I do?

Post by Jimlaw123 » Mon Nov 09, 2015 6:10 pm

Hello, to whom it may concern

I don't know what to do. I'm at a loss. I was supposed to register for the December 2015 test. I missed the deadline (it was Nov. 3rd), I miss read it and I thought it said something along the lines of (After Nov.3rd Late fee), that's what I thought, but I misread it, and now I cannot register for the Dec 2015 test. I'm... I'm pissed, I'm bummed, and I'm more pissed. (More at myself)

I tried a new method this time, I didn't want to have the test date looming over my head, so I was going to wait, until I had to register, then do it, and grind for the last month. At this point, I don't know what to do. I am avg about anywhere from a 155-160 (which is a great improvement) depending on games. The issue is that, I don't think I have this in me for another 3 months. I mean, I'm over all of this. I know the time could help me get more efficient, but I have used up all my test prep material (only have 61-72 left) that I have not done. Also the application.

This completely screw's up my application for this year. I won't be accepted anywhere, I won't get any money, and if I do super good, it won't matter. I was supposed to move back to LA for a job and work until I went to law school. Now, that cannot happen. I'm going to have to either stay here, or try and study in LA (Which is a bad idea, anyway you slice it). My family is sick of me and this procrastination (I do not blame them) and I'm getting older, I mean, this is getting kind of ridiculous. This test, has taken so much out of men mentally, and now that I'm doing well, gaining momentum this happens. It's like, "Are the stars, and the gods trying to tell me something?" (being sarcastic), but it shouldn't be this hard.

Maybe this isn't for me. I don't know, I don't think anyone has this many problems just trying to take a test (I've taken the test 3 times before, 3 years ago, and took some time off, and got a big time eye surgery that is helping me immensely, now that I can see.). If I do go on the trek for the next 3 months, What do I do? How do I maintain speed? or my accuracy, the LSAT is the type of test of when, you don't use it, you really do lose it. So, this is something I would like to know, or advice to make it or keep it up until Feb. Since... I chose not to work for the last 3 months for this. This is just... god dang it!, I don't know what to do.. I have a private tutor I've been paying until this December test, I won't be able to retain her through out these months, nor will I remember most of the things she taught me. I just need help, or advice, anyone direct message me, or tell me on here. (If I would have gotten a 160 or higher, I would have been happy, really happy. Would love to improve, but I.. I don't know if I can put life on hold again for another 3 months. My family is sick of me, and I'm sick of me too.)

Phoenix- Thanks.

To be honest, I think this whole "Law school" thing, is something I want, but there are other things I'd like to do. But doing this is important to me. I have to speak with my brother tonight about the next 3 months, and I have to make a decision on this. But thanks for the insight. I need to get back into.. something, work, something. I guess, I thought that if I could get a great score, go to a decent law school, then I can get into my field of choice (Entertainment Law), but, it's just.. not going well right now, I know if I would have taken the December test it would have been around a 157-160, and I would have been fine with that. But I can improve. It's just figuring out, how to handle this for another 3 months, and just life,,, Thanks for the insight. I'll think, on things for a few days.

This.

This isn't as big of a deal as you think it is. You know the material. Just continue to do what you do. You don't need a tutor at this point. Just take PTs, go over all the material, etc. Worst comes to worst, apply next cycle. It seems like you can retake even after this one (since you said you took it 3 times 3 years ago). If you end up hitting that high score even once, you're going to have way better options that would justify another year.

Everyone thanks for the insight. Also, thanks for talking me off the ledge (Metaphorically). I'll see what is up, and figure something out. Time to be the man I should have always be, not tomorrow, not in a year, but now... I'm going to do that. Thanks again.

You're gonna be fine.

Hey, I hate testing too. I took 4 times and I ended up with my best score on my 4th. Just power through. It only takes one good exam. Going to school one year later is really not a big deal at all. There are several people in their 30s at my school that are doing just fine.
