What to do when faced with a terrible testing site? Forum

Last October there were multiple problems with my test site:
•When I walked into my testing room, I was directed to the smallest desk in the room. Had to tell proctor it wasn't fair. The new desk that was switched out for it was small, but not as small. I couldn't place all of my materials on my test.
•Proctors paced the room every 2 minutes. Threw me off when they walked by me
•Band practice outside
•Proctors whispered to each other.

Are these scenarios normal? On top of that I was already incredibly nervous so I blanked out and didn't even get past question 15 once 5minutes was called for LR. What do I do if I'm faced with something like this? Do I make proctors aware of my preferences before the test is administered?

1) be more prepared for crappy circumstances. 2) be more familiar with the test. 3) lol at telling the proctors your "preferences" and expecting them to abide by your wishes.

I just want to complain.
LSAC changed the testing site, but I had already booked the hotel and it was non-refundable. It seems I have to get up and Uber to the new testing site.

It's as if proctors know they have the upper hand and get away with it. We could file a complaint but then we'd get our scores canceled. I think we just have to deal with it.

I had a proctor who did all the above (except for #1) and he ate crunchy snaks during the break. Oh and his phone went off. Terrible.

My second LSAT had construction going on outside and the proctor's phone going off.

This is why you practice for a variety of situations. I liked doing prep in a coffee shop for this reason.

Sure it sucks having a proctors phone go off, seriously they have one job...., but I also realized I had a job to do and 3 seconds of a phone won't ruin 3 hours of a test for me.
