I'm not sure whether this occurs to everyone, but it really unnerves me that my PT score fluctuates wildly. Yesterday I took PT66 and got a 176, and today I took PT52 and got only a 169. Back to last week, I took PT60 last Wednesday and got a 173, but the next day I did PT49 and got only a 166. So basically within the two weeks my PT score has fluctuated with a range wider than 10 points, the lowest being 164 and the highest 178. There's not a particular type of questions that bothers me, but I do find quite a lot of careless mistakes. Also, under timed conditions, my brain doesn't function really well and get questions wrong but later in the review process I can instantly get them right.
I'm just concerned is it only a phrase during lsat prep process? I'm taking the December one and aim for 170+, the higher the better. I'm really worried my test day might collide with my worse days and get a 165 or something.

Re: PT score fluctuates wildly
i experienced the same fluctuation during my pt training 2 weeks before the october lsat. I did extrememly well the first day, but, the next day, boom, i score 4 points below my average. it really freaked me out!!
my hypothesis is that doing timed pt is a very stressful practice, and you cannot do it in consecutive days.
So, i took my last pt 3 days before the actual test, took a complete break the next day, and only studied briefly the day before test.
