Should I take the test a third time?

Post by dasanilover » Fri Oct 23, 2015 12:54 pm

Hey TLSers, now that the dust has settled a bit, here's hoping that the celebrations lasted long into the night and that any frustration was eased by some long and restful sleep. The situation I'm in is a bit of a gray area, so any insight would be much appreciated.

Got a 167 on my first take in June and a 172 on my second take in Oct. I'm confident that I can score 175+ (was scoring there on my PTs, got very little sleep the night before because of a last-second deadline, messed up the last section (games) because i ran out of steam and had poor time management).

My q: does it make sense for me to take it a third time, assuming I can hit my target? I have around a 3.6 with decent softs (and top 5 UG for whatever it's worth).

Thanks in advance!

I would say no for only 1 reason, that being the margin for error is very high. For a 170+ score, all it takes is 1 error to wildly swing scores, especially in RC or LG which are more unpredictable. Yes, you're testing higher than you got, but the chance that a 175 makes a significant improvement to your offers from a 172 is not outweighed by the chance of scoring a 169-172 IMHO

Highest score matters, no downside in re-taking but a lot of upside. If you think you can do better than why not if you got $175 to blow
