Now 'till Dec. LSAT - how to improve

Post by Sciencemeetslaw » Wed Oct 14, 2015 11:23 pm

Hey all,

I have scored a 151 previously on the June LSAT, and now I am registered for the Dec. LSAT. My target is to improve at least ten points, so score around a 160 by Dec. I am just wondering whether this is realistic given the short amount of time left? I can study the LSAT full-time. One of my biggest problems is that usually I can only finish three games, three Rc passages, and around until question 20 for LR. When i do untimed tests, my score would be 160-165, but when I start timing myself, my score just decreases drastically. Thank you all!

It definitely could be achieved. Just keep drilling and do at leat 30 pts.

Certainly doable. You might actually be going a little bit too fast right now- if you were able to get pretty much all of the questions that you were attempting correct, you'd probably be in the low 160s instead of the low 150s. The only way you'll be able to get faster is by increasing your accuracy. Once your accuracy goes up, this will reflect better understanding of the questions, which in turn will result in you being able to do those kinds of questions faster. For now I would recommend setting the timer for 35 minutes for each section, and then just ignore the clock and try to focus on getting every question that you attempt correct. Then review any questions you get wrong, as well as any questions that you get right but weren't one hundred per cent sure about.

You very well can pick up your scores it is all about drilling yourself, taking quite a few simulated exams, and making sure to time your yourself for each test. If you are scoring 160-165 in untimed conditions, it might just be a timing concern, not doctrinal content. Hence, the more practice you have under timed conditions, the more you will be able to manage the stress level and correctly get through the questions.
