Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
Honestly I've looked at editor prices once when I was applying for a job at one of these organizations and its a massive rip off from what I saw. Can cost hundreds of dollars (although it is based on the number of pages / words). What I did personally was write my statement and then give myself some time from it and came back to edit it more, Furthermore, my profs looked at it.gamerish wrote:I know what I want to write about in my PS. I just have to take the time to put it down on paper and edit it relentlessly. What I'm mostly struggling with writing-wise is whether to write an addenda or use the reasoning/topic in my addenda and turn it into a DS.
Are you guys going to use one of those "professional" editors you can get online? My grammar is generally pretty good when I put effort into it but I feel like the importance of this might necessitate some more precise oversight.

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
The SO's mom was a magazine editor for years and then a prof, so I'll probably ask her to look at it. That, or my crazy old supervisor who would edit the grammar in my emails and return them to me with corrections.gamerish wrote:I know what I want to write about in my PS. Written five drafts of mine so far. All the same topic but I'm still trying to figure out how to structure it/which aspects to focus in on.

If you plan on Berkeley then it would probably make a significant impact. I'm not sure which other schools look at it as closely though.McJimJam wrote:I honestly don't think a PS makes enough of an impact on admissions to justify the paying for an editor, plus if I actually take the time to do multiple drafts I usually catch most of my errors.gamerish wrote:I know what I want to write about in my PS. Does berkeley really look at apps holistically? Everyone says they do, and yet people get dinged because of GPA constantly. If it were a holistic process, I feel like there would be a few more low GPAs accepted, you know? Berkeley is my top pick, but I'm worried bc of my 3.5cub1014 wrote:If you plan on Berkeley then it would probably make a significant impact. I did okay on 74... but I took 75 the week before the LSAT, and it was very discouraging because I got the lowest score I've ever gotten, 3 points lower than my diagnostic...seashell.economy wrote:74 was worse!ffamran wrote:Test 75 was the worst. I hated it. >:-( And it was only -10??

Took 75 as a real thing in June. In hindsight, I think it was just so straightforward that there was just little room for error.ffamran wrote:Test 75 was the worst. I hated it. >:-( And it was only -10??

guys if we're gonna talk about the curve, it should be about how it's going to be -16, and not, say, -8.

For anyone who took June and October:
in June I bombed that last game and tanked my confidence whereas I'm pretty sure I aced this LG. Thus I feel a lot more confident overall coming out of this one. Anyone concur?

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
Kind of opposite here. I scored -0 on LG in June but know that I missed at least 1 on this one. I bombed RC and did worse than my average on LR in June, whereas I felt somewhat better both LR and RC for October.nlee10 wrote:For anyone who took June and October:

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
I think that could extend to any retaker that feels they did better on sections that they suffered on previously. I know that I am in that camp, wrt, to LG and LR. RC is meh idk.nlee10 wrote:For anyone who took June and October:

Missed what you were trying to say there. Concur, yes. Though the whole "RC is better now" idea might be kind of undermined by misreading a simple message board postEnderWiggin wrote:Kind of opposite here. Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
I agree with this, but I was better prepared for LG this time around so that's probably why I felt better about it afterward.nlee10 wrote:For anyone who took June and October:
