Definitely depends on how well they know them and in what context.mist4bison wrote:Okay, i want opinions on this...Hot topic in the office at the moment.
Would it ever be beneficial to have a friend/boss/etc. who happens to know a LS dean (somewhat well) call them and put in a good word? I'm curious as to the effect it would have on an applicant's chances.

I can't stand her!! Idn something about her is just off. But her music is so damn catchy! Some of her country music isn't bad. I just love how her "accent" is gone.ffamran wrote:What about her older music that was more country?McJimJam wrote:Rock (especially classic), Jazz, R&B, every so often Hip Hop. As the days pass, I think more and more about the chances of me not bubbling in an answer. Which is the opposite of my normal entire life behavior. Idn, something about the LSAT just has me stir crazy. Plus I still don't know what to make of LR. Have a feeling it's gonna sneak up on me. Uhh. How many more days?

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
Wait, so there are different tests for Saturday makeover takers?
Wow... Seems like you lucked out. They seem to be saying your LG was easier. My section was insane. Felt like the 7 slots for 6 plus Y game in its uniqueness and difficulty. And placed at the end of the test too. My luck.

I really liked her older music (especially the album Speak Now), but her new PR is off-putting. There's this blatant PR video where she gives gifts to fans for Christmas, and they all happened to record themselves opening the package and freaking out. (Scream Queens parodied this a few days ago)Talarose wrote:I can't stand her!! Idn something about her is just off. But her music is so damn catchy! Some of her country music isn't bad. Bluegrass (super surprised how many others in this thread do, too!), classical (but exclusively piano music and symphonies), and just enough top 40 crap to claim cultural relevance...splitterfromhell wrote:What kind of music does everyone listen to?

Re: The Official October Waiter's Oasis
Kasich is pretty conservative when it comes to balancing budgets. Pilfered a lot of local dollars to make the state budget work. Screwed over basic commodities like hospitals, fire departments, etc. For me, a moderate be able to take off the fiscal responsibility blinders and realize that meeting a bottom line might do more harm than good in some situations. I'm from Ohio and I think he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Can definitely make you think he's a palatable moderate, but when you look at him closely he's pretty extreme.SirArthurDayne wrote:Kasich?theugg wrote:There is no such thing as a truly moderate Republican an office these days, btw. People who were conservative 20 years ago are RINOs now.
Edit: here's an article on Kasich https://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/201 ... story.html
I think John Huntsman was the best shot at a moderate Republican presidential candidate. He believes in evolution and global warming, promotes humane immigration legislation and supported the DREAM act, is ok with same-sex marriage, speaks fluent Mandarin, understands international affairs, and is very willing to work with the other side of the aisle. As a Dem., he was the only candidate who scared me in 2012 and might have even won my vote in the end. Very, very unfortunate for American politics that a guy like him can't gain the traction of a Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul. Maybe it has something to do with the whole Mormon thing, but he keeps his religion to himself so it doesn't bother me at all.

If he were alive today, Nixon would be a center-left Democrat.

it would appear so... i guess they randomly break it up geographically?Ar40 wrote:Wait, so there are different tests for Saturday makeover takers?
LG was pretty easy - though usually LG's not my problem, RC is much rougher on me - and I had it as experimental, too...Ar40 wrote:Wow... Seems like you lucked out.
