Likelihood of getting an extremely hard LG game?

Post by AfrocentricAsian » Fri Sep 11, 2015 1:55 am

Whats the likelihood of getting a game with no template to base off of? Is this not a fear for anyone else?

Doesn't matter the curve will adjust for it

Happened to me and we got a huge curve (or maybe it was some rare game and I didn't know how to diagram it). If no one else can answer it, remember the test is curved.

Don't worry about it. Be mentally prepared to roll with the punches.

I think the last time this happened was June '14 (Those damn summit company workers!!!!!  ).

That was last year, so it is rare that this would happen on the October test this year.

I don't see the concern with not having a template. I think since LG is the one most likely to throw people off with the rare games and stuff, I think it would be wise to actually learn how to do them and not just try and beat the test by plug and chug based off of the game type. I don't know why a template is necessary as it's not that difficult to make an understandable diagram. But maybe that's just me.

Soooo the June '15 -10 curve adjusted for the difficulty of the games and RC that many were complaining about post-test? I'd be careful with relying on the curve.

benwyatt wrote: I would agree that the June '15 curve adjusted just fine. I didn't think RC was difficult and there was only one game that was a little odd but I think most people agreed that it wasn't very difficult.
I didn't think they were too difficult and I ended up doing fine as well, but I guess my point is that what I recall reading in both the waiters' thread and many of the other ones contradicts the bolded as far as difficulty and confusion on the test. To the op: just learn how to do LG rather than use a specific formula and you'll be fine with whatever you run into.

I'm not. I was genuinely concerned and wanted to gauge whether I should continue focusing on the traditional games or branch out and pinpoint games which are more abstract.

All of them. I had a game on the June exam that hasn't been seen since LSAT 14.

Edit: I also had a non-usa exam
