First Diagnostic score? Forum

I just took my first blind diagnostic score. Sat down and timed it and everything. I got a 152 and my goal score is a 167-170. I am enrolled in the ScorePerfect course right now. Is this a bad diagnostic score? Is it maybe possible I can reach my goal or should I lower my standards a bit? Thanks in advance!

score perfect should be TM in Texas?

Don't lower your standards. That diagnostic is nothing to be ashamed of and not uncommon, even for high-scorers. If you're struggling in certain areas, or logic games in particular (commonly viewed as the easiest to improve), I suspect that you'll quickly improve into the 160s after learning the basics and developing a method of attack. Know your weaknesses, attack them head-on and excel at your strengths. Good luck.

First time I took a timed diagnostic I scored a 150. I've been studying for two months now and I'm scoring around 166-168. I'm taking the test in October and I'm hoping that by then I can score a 170+. So improvements are definitely possible, they do require a lot of work though.

152 is a solid diagnostic. Don't fret. A month of studying isn't a lot of time though, so get a move on.

My best section is Logic Games; I only missed 4 in that section. My problem is Reading Comprehension. Any advice?

Im taking the exam in February so I have a bit of time! I just took the earlier class so that I could self study over the holidays. I just got a little worried when I saw that 152 when I want 18 points higher than that by February.

RC is difficult to improve on. I used Manhattan RC which provided very general tips and advice. However, improving only came from practicing actual RC sections and passages for me. Timing was always a huge issue on that section. I went -4 (after countless frustrating hours of drilling) on my actual administration so I am no expert. Good luck. There is definitely enough time before February if you're diligent.

Do you mind me asking what you're doing to study? I'm hoping to take the December test and am PT-ing at 152 (that was a week ago). I am aiming for a 170+. How many hours in a day do you study, how much in a week? Thanks in advance!

Mostly I use the LSAT Trainer to study, the Cambridge packets to drill, and then take timed preptests on the weekends. As far as hours spent studying that has varied a lot. For the first month I studied about 15 hours a week, in the second about 25-35, and now that there is only 2 weeks left I'm going to try to study 40+ hours a week till the test.
