I've been planning on taking the October 3rd LSAT (haven't registered yet), but just found from my boss today that I'll have to go out of town for work the three days leading up to the test. Should I still plan on taking the October test, wait until December, or wait to make a decision until I see how my prep has been going? Will potentially not being able to put in solid study time those days before impact my performance when I sit for the exam? If anyone has gone through a similar experience I'd appreciate some input. Thanks.
Oh, this also will be my second take, if that impacts anything.

I would like to apply for the next cycle, but I have a low GPA (3.2) and would like to get my applications in early to try and mitigate this. Although I'm not completely opposed to taking a later test (December) and sitting out another year if it would help my acceptances. Pretty much t-14 or bust, so I need a 170+ LSAT.

Actually doesn't sound that bad, as long as you can get some decent sleep while you're on the road. When I retook the test, I actually took a few days off from studying beforehand. You shouldn't really be grinding on those days anyway. Just do some good reading in your free time to keep your mind sharp.
That's my take at least.

If you feel like the trip won't exhaust you, I'd shoot for October.
