I have a question about the correct answer. Why is it that (C) is correct since we must look for a unstated premise that must be true? (C) talks about what technology "experts" use instead of what our main piece of evidence talks about which is the technology "nonexperts" use

You have to capture the argument here: because most machines are designed for non-expert, so we don't need to educate our student with technological expertise for tomorrow's job market. So the premise is crystal clear here, it assumes tomorrow's job market doesn't need people with expertise regarding inner knowledge of machines, but what if it does? this is a loophole we have to plug in. The assumption here functions as a bullet-proof.
