Study schedule for December Test

Post by yunjh1066 » Tue Jul 21, 2015 6:00 pm

Hi, can anyone review my schedule and see if it's appropriate?

This is my third retake. I realized from my past schedules, I did not devote fully (I would stress out about it and sit on a desk for hours and hours without fully comprehending) and was panicking as tests got harder and test date came closer.

So this time around, I realized I need to get to those recent tests that are way harder early on so I can fully review them. And, just devote maybe 2 hours/day instead burning myself out after work. I work full time so I can't do a full practice test during weekdays.

So my plan is to drill couple sections on weekdays and take on practice test on a weekend. So that would be around 8 PTs for 4weeks/1 month... (one for drilling and the other one for real PT per week)

I have 4 months left with about 40 PTs to go (I am currently at PT 30).

Do you think I will be wasting my PTs by using them to drill during weekdays? I have no choice because I really can't take a full 5 section test after work...

Thanks in advance!

I don't necessarily buy the premise that the new tests are way harder than the old ones. At least not beyond what's adjusted for in the curve. Definitely a little different, but not uniformly harder.

If it were me, I'd buy the Cambridge LR and LG packets by type and use those to drill throughout the week and then PT those newer tests on the weekend.

Hmm maybe not harder but for some reason, I panicked as test dates got closer and I didn't have enough time to do more of the recent ones. Hence, harder for me as I couldn't review them thoroughly compared to the older tests.

For the Cambridge LSAT bundles, would it make a drastic difference if I just drill with PT 30-50 tests by sections? Like do 2 LR sections then 2 RC then 2 Games? Cambridge bundles are just PT30-50 that are categorized, no?

They have a PTs 1-38 bundle that's organized by type and arranged by difficulty, which a lot of people have found to be a pretty successful way to drill.

I'd recommend that.

PTs after 60 are harder than those before 20 except games, and much harder to break a very high score due to stricter curves. I think there is a consensus on that.
