Bibles then do every Preptest?

Post by calmike » Wed Jul 08, 2015 10:07 pm

Is reading all three bibles and then doing every Preptest in existence a good study strategy?

It's probably overkill

Ive already read the LG and RC bible and will read the LR one later one.

They're great foundations, however I think you need to drill for a while after, or while you read them, and then hit PTs.

It entirely depends on the person. There isn't a right way to answer the question. Some people can get a 170+ after studying only for a week. I had to do all the bibles and every test ever made.

You'll reach a point where you know that you have probably plateaued, at which point additional study will not be useful. Until then, keep plowing. When you're consistently scoring 180s on PTs, then you can worry about whether or not studying more is overkill.

I was planning on trying this strategy as well. Right after reading the LR and RC bible, I'm going to do every practice test possible and blind review after each one. If I am not consistently hitting 180 at some point, I was thinking of drilling all the questions. I'm confused, however, if I should drill first or do all the practice tests first. I feel that if I drill all the questions possible before the prep tests, then the scores I get will be unrepresentative, whereas if I do the practice tests first and then drill all the questions, then it'll improve both speed, strategy, and accuracy. I'm also not sure if this is the best strategy though.

I did it like this:

Step 1: LSAT Trainer + Manhattan Bibles

Step 2: Preptests 1-60 - Drills. I came up with my own system for grouping games. It's an excel file and you can PM me with an email address if you want a copy of the list. I didn't really drill question types for LR.

Step 3: Preptest 60-Current - Full Length PTs with added experimental section from SuperPrep Tests and Preptests 42-45.

You can mess around with how many Preptests you leave yourself for full length. If you have absolutely poor stamina, then leave some more PTs for your full lengths.
