Do I need a more intensive schedule? Feels I am not working hard enough
I had my cold diagnostic test in late May, mid 150s. Missed -16 on LG, -13 on both LRs, -6 on RC.
I started prepping for LSAT since June 7th after I'm done with my final. Now a month has passed and I've put in some time reading the three Bibles, the three Manhattans and have finished drilling Cambrdige bundle LG. For LR, I've drilled MBT, Main conclusion, Assumption questions and Strengthen. So far I can feel I'm improving, especially LG, but for LR, I'm only making slow progress. Now when I go through the questions I've missed, most of them I know perfectly why the correct answer is correct.
Now I am still drilling LR while drilling LG for the second time. Trying to get RC started as well.
My question is, I am easily burnt out. I can work on LSAT for five hours per day at most, and after five hours lethargy just get over me. I've read some thread that you need to study your ass if to gain a double-digit improvement, I'm wondering if I need to put in more hours per day, e.g. 7 or 8 hrs.

The lethargy sucks. Honestly, five hours a day is still a lot, and I don't want you to burn out before October. Also, at your current pace, I worry about you running out of study materials that you haven't seen before! I'm not sure what the correct answer is, but my guy is telling me that you need to figure out how to work smarter, not harder.GospelLeague wrote:I had my cold diagnostic test in late May, mid 150s. What do you mean by "work smarter"?LifeGoals wrote:The lethargy sucks. Honestly, five hours a day is still a lot, and I don't want you to burn out before October. Have you taken a test since your first diagnostic and all your drilling? If so, what was your score?? I'm certainly no expert, I've recently realized I've been practicing the wrong way. What I can tell you is this, doing games over is what you should be doing. You should do those over, and over until you're confident you can nail anyone of them. As far as LR goes, are you really taking the time to thoroughly review the questions you're doing, and finding out what's wrong with the wrong answers you picked, as well as why the other three were wrong!?

Re: Do I need a more intensive schedule? Feels I am not working hard enough
I feel like I am in the same position. I took the June test and am not happy with my score. At all. I am confident in LG so I am completely focusing on LR & RC. I think the way I studied previously is what screwed me over. I took a prep test today to see what type of questions I was missing on LR and while it was some flaw, the rest were a mixture. So I'm not sure where that puts me in terms of how or what I should study. Since there isn't a specific type of question in mission on LR, I don't know exactly what I need to be studying. I am extremely concerned and anxious that I will not be ready for October.

All I can say is, don't make the same mistakes I did at the beginning of my prep. Drill, drill, drill, drill until you can't drill anymore! Don't worry about the timer, just drill until the concepts/application of strategy for each question type become routine, and recycling material for LR is not a bad thing from what I've heard. Just make sure you're internalizing the information. If you're confused, go back to the guides oR come up on TLS and ask what you're confused about.

When I drill LR, I tend to do it slowly, by writing on the paper what makes an answer choice right or wrong, and when I check the answer, I would check what is the gap between "what I was thinking" and "what I should be thinking". However, I found this really time-consuming, because I can only do one or two difficult levels for an entire morning, that's why I think I'm making slow progress.ltowns1 wrote:All I can say is, don't make the same mistakes I did at the beginning of my prep. Don't know if that's the right way.

Using Princeton Review. I went over that material and then I just did PT after PT, all of which I have come to understand is the worst thing to do.GospelLeague wrote:How did you study for the June test?Talarose wrote:I feel like I am in the same position. No. It's a personal thing. You need to do what makes you feel like you're getting better. 5 hours a day of LSAT is plenty. It isn't the type of material one can consistently work with for 40 hrs a week.
