Re: 4th take?
don't ED... just take a little break and hit the books again, read some retakers guides that include retakes and such and see where you're at when comes time to make the decision if you feel you're in a better spot... if plans were to go in this cycle apply still and risk a wasted app feesantoki wrote:Hello all.
3.18.
Oct 2012 - 164
June 2013 - 162
Dec 2014 - 167
Goals T14.
Was PTing around 169-172. Out of fresh tests, have put in a lot of time and a couple of years into it. If retaking I'd be taking June. What are your thoughts?
Please talk me out of EDing to GULC.

Obviously your prospects aren't fantastic now.

Why don't you tell us a little more about your studying. Maybe we can identify some major holes. If you want - you can apply this cycle and ask for a non-binding deferral from WUSTL. You can retake in june and depending on how you do you can:
1) not improve your score - bite the bullet and go to WUSTL near sticker. There are far worse places to pay sticker at. WUSTL is an excellent regional school.
2) not improve your score - cancel your deferral at no cost.
3) Improve your score some- try to negotiate with WUSTL for cash
4) Improve your score dramatically - wait the cycle out and apply again.

downbeat14 wrote:Good god no option 1 is terrible advice. No school is worth 250k+ in non-dischargeable debt. You will literally be a slave to the government for decade(s). According to Law School Transparency, only 67% of students are employed in full-time legal jobs 9 months after graduation. Are you willing to risk that kind of indentured servitude for a 2/3 chance of getting a job (not necessarily a good job that will enable you to service your debt, mind you)?Seoulless wrote:bite the bullet and go to WUSTL near sticker. OP, ignore any advice that doesn't involve you retaking for the 170s. With you GPA, TBH, this is your only viable option.
EDIT: your family is ok with sticker? Do you mean that they are paying the whole bill? Not sure what you mean? If your that loaded then I guess do whatever you want, but you'll prob still get dinged in almost all or all of the T14 with that GPA. If your family is paying you owe it to them to get more bang for their buck by getting a 170-level score where u might have some decent options.
Jesus Christ - i take back what I said. I had no clue WUSTL has gone so downhill. 67% is an abomination. Thanks for bring this up.
