Anyone looking for study partner for Dec?

Post by jenex » Sun Oct 26, 2014 2:21 pm

Hi all, I've been a longtime lurker here and was wondering if anyone is looking for study partner? I've recently decided to re-take the LSAT in Dec after scoring below what I was hoping for in Sept (scored in mid-160s, shooting for 170+. RC+stress owned me in Sept so am trying to change my study habits to account for this).

I find that discussing questions/LSAT struggles with someone really does help and makes the prep process more enjoyable. Shoot me a message if you have similar goals and are looking for a study partner! I'm in DC but am happy to do Skype sessions if you're not in the area.

Good luck with your preparations, y'all! :)

Hi Jenex,

I'd suggest getting in touch with the pre-law frats at your local universities. They'll likely have half a dozen students who are looking for study partners.

Best luck,

I'm in. I haven't even cracked a book open yet. Law School is a recent development for me. I have some lecture videos and study guides coming. But I would love a study partner(s).

Let me know?

:)

BP Robert - Thanks so much for the suggestion - l'll definitely consider reaching out to pre-law frats in my area.

azteacher - I've actually been practicing for a while (I took a Testmasters course + spent most of the summer months self-studying) so I'm looking for someone who is in a similar situation. If you haven't started yet, I'd really recommend 7sage as far as Logic Game video explanations go (they're free). Best of luck studying, and sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Thank you to those who've messaged me! Just to give some more context, I had been PT-ing in the low 170s in the weeks before my exam, so I'm looking for study partner(s) at a similar skill range. I'm working full-time so I'm studying most heavily during the weekend and a bit after work.

My name is Michelle. I am in very similar situation with you! I have been preparing LSAT for more than a year. I took a TestMasters and 7 Sage prep courses; also covered several materials including LSAT Trainer, Bibles, Manhattan Strategies Books and Multiple PTs. I have developed several strategies and would like to share with yours.

I made a decision to take a leave from work in order to completely focus on studying – this shows how much I am serious and determined. I am looking for someone who can share this motivation and be a supporter and a couch for each other. I’ve studied with few other people and found it very effective to analyze questions together and talk it out and explain to each other; way more than just listening to the lecture. I would also like to take the entire PT together under strict time limit to improve our endurance. We can proctor each other.

Please contact me at michellemoon0708@gmail.com. My Skype ID/Good Hangout ID is michellemoon0708. I am down to talk any time. I am willing to work on any time frame/schedule. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm in a similar situation as both of you. Currently PT'ing in the low 170's. RC is my main focus right now. I am definitely interested in having study partners for this last month.

Thank you for the post, Jenex! I have done all pretests from 1991 to 2014 June and took the September one, which I scored much lower than my pretests average. I plan to retake the December and am aiming at mid-170s. I have read through LG/LR bibles and used to use 7 sage for LG. Currently my plan in mind is to work on my weakness in RC and LR during week days and discuss problems (in any of the three sections) with study partner(s) on weekends. Of course, the study method can be flexible and I'm open to other suggestions.

I'm in pretty much the same place you guys have described. High 160s to low 170s, RC being the bane of my existence. I'm more interested in having a study partner I can meet with in person. If anyone of you live in the DC metro area, PM me!
