Does anyone have an idea what order is best for Manhattan LR vs. LSAT trainer? I have already read powerscore bible for LR and am sitting around -9 for both sections, but looking to whittle that down a bit. Any ideas which of the above is more valuable to go through first?
Thanks!

Disclaimer: I have not tried the LSAT trainer, and this is only my opinion.tfarunner wrote:Does anyone have an idea what order is best for Manhattan LR vs. LSAT trainer? For me I started out like almost everyone else did, I started with bible. I quickly realized that I really didn't know what I was doing. My score would go from around -5 to -12. I then turned to Manhattan's LR book, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. It breaks things down on a basic level that the bible just assumes you get from the jump. I would go with this. Furthermore, now that I have read it, the bible seems to elevate my performance. I would suggest that those that may not have a rock solid understanding of the fundamentals of LR get Manhattan first, and then go back to the bible. I began to see a vast improvement in the way I think about questions now, and I consistently score around -5 to -7. (I'm still improving. Just took a untimed test today where I missed only three questions in both LR sections combined)
Side Note: What really, really helped me was the idea of understanding what it means for the premise to be true. I thought I knew what that mean't but I really didn't. Understanding that is the key to improving in my opinion, because you are able to then understand what answers are in the ballpark (scope) of the argument. The conclusion is only half the battle.

Re: Trainer v Manhattan after powerscore for LR
I've used both (although, I read all of Manhattan, but didn't finish the Trainer.)
I recommend using Manhattan first as it is a very comprehensive overview of each of the types. If you're able to accompany it with drilling of each question type after you finish each chapter (in addition to the drilling provided in the book), I think that would help.
Also, it sounds like you want to use both, and I think that's good (as long as you don't get caught up in only reading books/learning theory.) A lot of people have found the trainer useful in seeing a broader perspective on the test. I think it will be more useful for you to see that perspective after you already have a good foundation of that section (which Manhattan will almost surely give you.)
Good luck.
