Kaplan Private Tutoring?

Post by Bruh » Mon Oct 20, 2014 4:16 pm

Has anyone done private tutoring with Kaplan online course?
It caught my attention because they told me it was a money back guarantee if I didn't get the score I wanted.

Also, I'm currently using 7sage so I don't know how that might effect working with a Kaplan tutor.

I think that Kaplan's allows you to get a refund if you don't improve your score from your diagnostic. If you fail to get your ideal score, there is no guarantee you will be refunded. In other words if you improved by one point, no refund. I could be wrong -- so double check -- but I am fairly confident that this is the actual policy.

Is there a particular section you are looking to improve?

Hi there,

I went through the whole Kaplan tutoring. The money back guarantee only works if you complete all the homework, which is an absurd amount online. I actually did the whole thing and screenshotted my completion to make sure. They lock your account the day before the test, then when I got my score and did not improve a single point they tried to tell me that I did not complete the homework and listed random homeworks that I didn't do (but I did). I sent all my screenshots and caught them on their bluff...got my 3 grand back.

I would not recommend their tutoring. It is so basic, and anything they tell you you can receive here on TLS for FREE. Please pm me if you have any other questions. I am willing to form a little study group if you'd like.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you're interested in non-Kaplan tutoring options :) there are some pretty beautiful track records out there

I also use 7sage, and to be honest I can't think of how a private e-tutor would help me any more than just using 7sage tools to identify weaknesses and drill with cambridge packets or PTs

Thank you for the info!

I will steer clear of Kaplan.
One more question.

JY Ping (7sage founder) recommended purchasing The LSAT Trainer in addition to using 7sage.
Have any of you used the trainer?
