Re: Question on test 56 S2 Q 14.
The conclusion holds that people who are especially overconfident are more likely to attempt to start a business than less confident people. On what basis do they conclude this? That 100 entrepreneurs, in general, were more confident in their answers than business managers. To strengthen this relationship between overconfidence and business-starting, my gut tells me the answer might have something to do with the fact that the entrepreneurs were unique in starting businesses (i.e. business managers aren't trying to start their own business on the side, or lateraling from having attempted to), or that the overconfident managers started them too.
A. Irrelevant. The type of questions have no bearing on the conclusion.
B. Interesting fact, but having determined the odds doesn't really matter. The conclusion is concerned with their decision to carry on starting a business despite them.
C. Interesting as well, but our conclusion is concerned with STARTING a business, not succeeding in it.
D. This matches our second hypothesis, that the most overconfident of both groups started businesses. This directly supports out conclusion regarding the relationship between overconfidence and starting a business.
E. Similar to (C), how confident someone is in their business doesn't matter for us. We just care about the relationship between overconfidence and starting a business.
