Getting over the Logic Games hump
Logic Games are my worst section in LSAT practice. I get 80% of the LR questions right, 70% of RC, and around 50% of LG, usually resulting in 155-157. I'm not happy with this. Most of the time, if I am not timing myself, I get between 0-1 questions wrong per game, I can always understand why I got the questions wrong, and I take anywhere from 9-15 mins on a game. The biggest challenges as far as I can tell are the timing (I think I would be lucky to finish 3 games in 35 mins), and maybe my set ups are inefficient although I have tried to follow PS bible guidelines. I honestly don't know what the problem is. I've been through the whole PS LG bible and now I'm starting to get more questions wrong in my practice. Do I need to go back and review the PS methods? Do I need to just keep up the repetition and practice and things will get better?
I have heard that many other people also find LG to be the most challenging, so I am wondering if people who were able to improve their LG scores experienced a break through period where you started to get more questions right? Will I improve if I keep up the practice and do every LG I can find over and over and overrrrr? I'm worried I'm too dumb to improve on LG and that I should just accept that I won't get above earning 10-11 points from the LG section. Maybe I should just turn my focus to improving in LR and RC since those sections have always come more easily to me? I've just started being able to finish 4 RC passages so that's encouraging.
Thinking of taking Dec LSAT if I'm ready and hoping for AT LEAST a 160 so I can get into William and Mary or UNC, but of course since I have a 3.82 I'd like a higher LSAT score. Just wondering if this is similar to anyone else's experience....

Yes, i had the same issues....as many people on here would probably agree LG is often the most intimidating part at the beginning of prep because it is so foreign but is often the section where you can make the most gains
I would highly recommend 7sage videos, those have helped me a lot.....their methods have worked the best for me since they focused on making several initial setups so that when you attack the questions you don't have to draw as many new sketches
My first diagnostic I only got 5 right and now its a disappointment if I miss 5 so definitely learnable

the answer to the second question in the second paragraph is yes, but i would take another year to do that. you wont regret it in the long run.rribley wrote:Logic Games are my worst section in LSAT practice. Don't be afraid to get some work experience post college before going to law school. Law school is not going anywhere and you should take your time to do well. You can do better than a 160. Personally, I used the Logic Games Bible and drilled the shit out of games. It became my favorite (if that's possible) section. I've heard only amazing things about 7sage's videos but I've never used them so I can't comment on them.
The key is setting up the game and drawing the inherent inferences - people do this in different ways but the LG Bible taught me their method and I liked it.

Man this probably isn't what you want to hear but I was awful at games now I am getting pretty good, lately around -3, have had a -0, usually around -3 area though.
Literally buy the cambridge package and drill every single game until you know them all. then you'll be good at logic games. then do sections from all the pts logic games and any time you don't do them perfectly, also drill the shit out of those. this is all it is man, LG is actually easier to get good at than LR in my opinion, and this is coming from someone who got a total of about 3 correct on their diagnostic on logic games.

That's about where I started. LG is confusing, but once you learn the basis it's actually really easy. I agree when flash claims it's easier to learn than other sections too.flash21 wrote:this is coming from someone who got a total of about 3 correct on their diagnostic on logic games.

Flash: about how long did you spend drilling all the games you could find? about how long until you started getting faster? when you say
what do you mean by know them all? Sometimes I get all the questions right but I worry that I'm not doing it as efficiently as I need to. Maybe I'm not making as many inferences as I need to in order to be efficient? idk...basically my last question is how do you decide when you "know" a game.flash21 wrote: drill every single game until you know them all
