Appropriate Number of PTs to take between now and DEc 6th.

Post by goddard24 » Mon Oct 13, 2014 8:17 am

Morning guys. Since we're all gearing up to take the Dec test date, wondering what minimum number of PT's would be appropriate to take between now and december--Not trying to get burnt out, yet I want to be adequately prepped. (Scored a 158 on my last PT, looking to score in the 170's)

Also, is it more beneficial to do a blind review immediately following the PT or waiting at most a day?

Depends on your strategy.

And there is more than 1 way to go about it.

I took about 15 leading up to September.

If you're scoring 158 and your target score is 170, tests aren't going to help you jump 12 points. There are still concept you are unsure of yet. Have you been checking incorrect answers to see what your errors are? There are areas for you to improve. Find out what's tripping you up first. Maybe you do know the concepts you just need practice with harder type questions first. Either way, there is improvement you can make before testing.

Since you're still scoring in the 150's I'd suggest no more than one PT a week. Right now your focus needs to be on drilling and mastering the basic fundamentals required for each question type. One mistake several people make is just doing a whole bunch of tests and a whole bunch of questions. While that will get you familiar with the content, it won't help you increase your score. You need to spend more time reviewing than doing new questions. Good luck!!
