Advice on Postponing September LSAT
I took this summer to study for the LSAT, and am signed up for the September exam. I have a 3.98GPA in engineering, and am shooting for a 170+ to put myself in the best position for scholarships in the T14. My PTs have been pretty good, but recently have gone down a little. The last 4 i've taken have been 172, 165, 167 and 167, with a total average of around 168 for August/September; my main problem being I've recently been going around -6 on one of the LR sections. I had been going around -3 on LR total, but this has jumped up to about -8 recently. I've also been feeling a bit burned out, so I took half of yesterday and today off, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I've decided to go to engineering grad school (I have an RA position so it will be free except living), so I don't have to take in September but would really like to if possible. I don't want to take the test until I'm ready, but don't know if postponing would improve my score much. I also need to take the GRE and apply for fellowships etc., so making the decision soon would be good for me. My plan is to see how the next week or so goes, and make my decision by the 20th, but I'm looking for any advice people have about postponing. Thanks a lot

im confused by the sequence of events. you are starting grad school right now, or are later? youre grading to grad school before law school?

Re: Advice on Postponing September LSAT
Technically speaking, you can no longer "postpone" as the deadline passed on Sept 9. You can, however, cancel your registration and reregister. I would recommend that you try to keep on track for these next two weeks as if you're taking the Sept test. In the week before the test, however, if you are consistently scoring below your target, I would personally suggest that you cancel and take the December. Having a subpar score is by no means devastating, but it can hurt a bit. For ex, if you have a 166 from Sept but then a 171 in Dec, it will look a bit worse than just a 171 in Dec.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

So right now I'm a senior in Engineering Physics with an emphasis on nanotechnology. I've decided to go to grad school for two main reasons. One because I feel somewhat limited with my E.P. degree; I've taken a lot of tough classes and have a pretty good understanding of stuff, but most people don't know what it is and therefore don't really "respect" it. If I were to do patent law with it, I'd most likely get grouped in with physics majors, which almost never do patent prosecution with a B.S. The second reason is that getting a masters in electrical engineering will allow me to learn more about the things i'm interested in, give me more experience to decide if I want to go into law, and definitely won't hurt me either way (especially if I do patent law).BillPackets wrote:im confused by the sequence of events. you are starting grad school right now, or are later? youre grading to grad school before law school?

Re: Advice on Postponing September LSAT
I made the decision to go to grad school a little less than 2 months ago. At that point I had already been studying for the LSAT for 2 months, and since I already put in a lot of work I figured I'd just try to take it now.BillPackets wrote:So y r u taking the LSAT right nowdiiggidy wrote:So right now I'm a senior in Engineering Physics with an emphasis on nanotechnology. Take it when you're a 100% confident that law school is the route you want to take. Focus on GRE and grad school now. One step at a time.
