Best Unofficial Games

Post by BillsFan9907 » Wed Sep 10, 2014 2:12 pm

Having burnt through all the PTs, I searched high and low for suitable unofficial games. I bought old Kaplan and PR books etc... Then I stumbled on this:

http://www.getprepped.com/freeACE.pdf

This is by far the best collection of unofficial games.

I've got no affiliation with them.

I'd be hesitant, generally speaking, to put too much stock in any unofficial materials.

With that being said, I suppose it can't hurt to keep your mind nimble, even if they aren't perfectly similar. Sounds like a good find.

I was thoroughly hesitant as well. Having done every single officially released lsat game multiple times, I would say these are approaching 95% similarity. Manhattan also has great unofficial games out there too, but those are definitely more for skill-building.

With the above said, the unofficial LR and RC that I have found are generally not useful.

Isn't this like asking, "If I was going to have sexual relations with a member of my family, which would be the best?"

There could maybe be a "best" but why would you do that in the first place, as there are many better potential sexual partners.

Unless all other potential sexual partners are dead, in which case (assuming you want to repopulate) you pray for for a 2nd or 3rd cousin. That's the position of someone who has exhausted all official games.

Some of the ACE games are orders of magnitude more difficult than actual games, and most are at least marginally so. If you are aware of that then they can be useful. Also, at least for the book version there are several errors (idk if this holds for the link you posted).

Yes, there are a few errors and some points that could be clearer. I am sending them an e-mail showing them exactly where the errors are. They are a bit more difficult, but far less difficult than the Manhattan Games.
