Can I do it?

Post by should-i-do-it » Sat Sep 06, 2014 2:11 pm

Took the LSAT three years ago (-2) on games. Foolishly thought I don't really need to study for games. Last two months I've just focused on LR/RC. Thought I'd review games, did a section and completely bombed, missed more than half. LSAT is in three weeks. Can I get my games skills back? Planning on going through Trainer for games and drilling a bunch the next two weeks. Would it be enough or should I plan a December retake.

How are you doing on LR and RC?

How badly did you bomb?

You're registered at this point. I'd say drill it hard and, after 10 days when it's still 1.5 weeks before the exam, you can determine how far you've come along. That should probably be your cut off point though: the 15th or 16th. By then you should be happy with where you're at on games, and that'll give you just under two weeks to prove you can consistently score around your target area.

It's a short time period, but possible. If there's no real urgency for you to take the exam in Sept, though, then certainly delay to Dec.

LR is fine, not a whole lot of improvement but I don't think I can do a lot better. RC is better than before. Yeah I'll see where I am in a week/10 days. Really hoping I can improve or I am screwed. How bad does it looks to schools if your score drops?

A score drop looks pretty bad, as you might imagine. But there's no need to worry about that; you have plenty of time to get your LG up in the next three weeks. To some extent, it'll come to you quickly since you're just reminding yourself of the approach rather than learning it.

LG should occupy about 60% of your study time for the next week or so at least.
