My PT scores - advice on prep and applications?

Post by Troianii » Thu Sep 04, 2014 4:06 am

I've taken three PTs.

1. SCORE: 158
LR: 66%
RC: 78%
LG: 58%

2. SCORE: 156
LR: 72%
RC: 59%
LG: 46%

3. SCORE: 159
LR: 82%
RC: 63%
LG: 63%

I'm surprised by how close my scoring is. I've heard that an individual's scoring is usually pretty well grouped, but I expected much more variance. I'll be ecstatic if I can get myself scoring anywhere in the 170s.

I'm taking the LSAT next summer. Going forward, I'm taking two semesters of formal logic courses offered through the philosophy department. I've heard a lot of good things about that in regards to the LSAT, particularly in regards to the LG portion, which is obviously my weakest area. Any recommendations on what books or guides to get to help? Particular strategies? Also, I plan on taking an online course, and have heard mixed views about everything but Manhattan. Does anyone have any tips on which courses to take? Also, any tips on saving $ on books or courses wouldn't go amiss either. ;)

Thanks ahead for any tips, advice, or other comments.

Scrap the logic course. Shits not going to help you with anything proper.

If you're scoring there, look around the forum for some study guides and pick up the Manhattan bundle/LSAT trainer. Get PT's 1-38 to drill, use 39-72 to PT with. Manhattan forum has all the explanations to push you in the right direction. 7sage has all the LG game explanations. You're in a good spot to make a huge jump into the 170's. Search around for some guides, you don't need a course. Save that money for drugs.
