Am I capable of getting 99th percentile? 180?
I took the GRE cold and got ~95th percentile. If I prepare comprehensively for the LSAT, do you think I have the capability to get 99th percentile or higher?

180 is 99th of the 99th (99.99) so don't count on it.

Go take a practice LSAT and then you'll have your answer.

You can probably do well, but the GRE isn't really anything like the LSAT.

that. and do you mean you scored 95th in all three sections?smccgrey wrote:The GRE is very, very easy and nothing like the LSAT.taolin wrote:I took the GRE cold and got ~95th percentile. If I prepare comprehensively for the LSAT, do you think I have the capability to get 99th percentile or higher?
But if you study well, you can do very well on the LSAT. So yes, but the premise is irrelevant.

I don't think that GRE success is a very good indicator of how you'll do on the LSAT. The GRE is more like a proficiency exam focused on breadth, whereas the LSAT tests a very specific set of skills very rigorously.
With that said, you can absolutely score in the 99th percentile on the LSAT if you study hard. You'll want to be shooting for a 172, then.
No one here can really answer your 180 question without knowing you. 172 is achievable by most everyone with enough studying because you can still get ~10 questions incorrect, but its another level of comprehension and mastery to get only one or two incorrect and score a 180. You should take a practice exam to see where you're starting at.
Best luck studying.
