New PT extra space for LG

Post by HeirCroc » Mon Aug 25, 2014 12:03 am

Just got to the newer PTs where they give you a ton of space for LGs. It was actually annoying to me because I kept having to refer back to my main diagram, which I created on the first page. Am I just not used to this format, and will get more comfortable with it, or is there any sort of strategy for how to use the extra space?

I make my initial diagram on the next page. Usually, the first question is a standard acceptable situation question, in which case you dont even need a diagram, you can just use the rules from the stimulus as a checklist. Then, you may have to answer a question or two on differing pages, but the rest of them you should be fine. I feel like the little time it takes to just glance over at a different page (a little bit slower though, because you are more prone to mistakes) makes up at least the 20 plus seconds it takes to remake your diagram

That makes sense. I was planning to try the diagram on the second page on my next PT. Thanks.

I agree that doing the setup on page 2 of the game is your best bet and use page 1 as overflow if you need it. You'll want to practice in the current format as much as possible. I recommend that self-study students use http://everylsat.com/ for their PTs because they've converted all the old Games sections to the current 2-page format. That way you can get used to the way it will actually be on test day.

Hope this helps!
