Specific way to use SuperPrep?

Post by WordPass » Tue Aug 19, 2014 10:28 pm

Hey guys,

So I just received the SuperPrep in the mail. I was wondering, is there a specific/best way to use it? Since it's "official" insight into how the LSAT makers think, I'm a bit skeptical about just plowing through the questions like a normal section. Should these be tests I use as mainly review that'll help me get better at thinking like the makers or should they me more of gauges of test performance?

Any info appreciated.

Also, could anyone provide any insight into the tests' relative difficulty level?

I would use it to get into the test writers mind more than a gauge of test performance. PrepTests A, B, and C (those included in the Superprep) are from the late 90's early 2000's and the more recent ones will be a better gauge of test performance. That being said, I found it most helpful in the Logical Reasoning section because you'll see a good mix of question types in any given section. The explanations for the LR section can give you a few of those aha moments. Reading Comp will be pretty useful as well. I wouldn't really use the explanations for Logic Games though, there are much better options out there to give you insight into the LG section. The games are definitely worth completing though.

Hope this helps!

Up to about Pg.62 they talk about the three sections-LG, LR and RC-and the different question types/some general pointers. The rest of the book contains the three Feb. Lsats and explanations for each question.

I would personally only go through this book right now if you have the time to do so. It is not particularly helpful when there are only a few weeks left until the actual exam. The Superprep is a sort of book you might read at the very early stages of your prep. But do the games atleast from all three tests. The LG in the second test in particular was difficult and time-consuming.

They're older tests (and the LG are regarded as particularly difficult) so it's probably not important to take them as full tests. I would go through every LR/RC question and write out a complete explanation of why each answer is wrong and why the correct one is right. That's what the SuperPrep contains, and you can compare what you wrote with what they wrote.

Spent 1-2 hours reading it but it's really more of an introductory piece IMO.
