Well it's saying that since there is a discrepancy between his teachings and actions you should disregard his work on fiber optics. The stimulus is saying in a nutshell contradiction in action and teaching----> disregard scientific work. Therefore it's E bc the flaw is that his character is being questioned in order to question his findings.
