Orange County study buddies

Post by Aurelius85 » Tue Aug 05, 2014 7:34 am

Any TLSers prepping for the LSAT in Orange County? I'm on my 10th month of studying and going strong. I'm using Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer for LR, the Cambridge RC Volume 2, and I'm more than half way through the Powerscore LG Bible. I'm still a novice, but I feel like I'm improving on everything every single day.

I live in North Orange County and there's very few places where I can effectively study (local libraries, UCI, Cal State Fullerton), however Chapman University's Leatherby Library is by far the quietest, cheapest, and most laid back place I've found. I see nothing but other students, faculty, researchers, and the occasional citizen who comes in to casually read, i.e. it's as quiet as a tomb. I love the fact that you can park on the street a block or two away from the library and never have to worry about someone breaking into my car, a parking meter, a parking ticket, or getting my car towed. It's a great place: plenty of space, the AC's on full blast, and the hours are reasonable (open til 10pm during the summer and open til 2am during the academic year).

So, if there's any other ppl who live near Chapman University and would like to study or exchange LSAT strategies, let me know. I'm on the 3rd floor of the Leatherby Library and I'm usually the last one to leave, so it won't be hard to find me.

I apologize in advance if I missed a previous thread on this subject, but I wasn't able to find anything up to date using the search function.

No one? Wow, surprising. If someone revives this thread in the near or distant future (2015), send me a message if you're interested in forming a study group. All the best.

Very nice, Fullerton's a great town. Since I take the train to LA for an internship I'm completing, on occasion I use the Fullerton Public library to study, however it's a lousy place to do anything, more so to study for the LSAT. Homeless folks have literally taken over most of the library. Not only are these folks loud but they also use the library as their cafeteria and do "other" unappealing things throughout the library. I hope I'm not scaring you, but I wouldn't recommend Fullerton library for anything. You're much better off taking advantage of Cal State Fullerton's library, although the parking is a bitch. If you're interested, Chapman's Leatherby library is the way to go if you're near: they're open late, it's very quiet, you don't have to be a student to use it, and the parking is free (that is if you don't mind walking a block or so). Let me know if you'd be interested in studying. Although I'm approaching the middle of my prep, I still feel like I'm a novice, so I can give you a couple of hints and maybe you can help me keep me going. All the best.

Hi Aurelius,

I think your best bet is to look up the PreLaw societies at each of the schools at which you study. You'll find dozens of people preparing to take/retake the LSAT.

Best luck.

Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna do some digging up and see if I can find anyone.
