How much did the Testmasters course help you? How much of the hw did you complete and how many practice exams did you guys take?

I know one guy who got 19 pts improvement, and another with 12. I improved in the teens as well, and I get the sense that it averages at ~15 if you put in a real effort. But obviously it depends on where you start.

Depends on the amount of work you put in.

Tbh, I didn't find Testmasters helpful at all. I scored only a few points above my diag. After self studying, I improved 11 points.

In diags the bump was about 10 points, but I jumped another five on test day. Testmasters was alright and got me pointed in the right direction, but it was the work I put in on my own that seemed to help the most.

Did you guys complete all the homework? I'm just wondering how helpful doing the hw can be, given how voluminous it is.

The class worked much better for me than self studying because I need the class format as motivation to actually do the work (i.e. deadlines to complete hw). But nearly all of my improvement did come from actually doing the homework, because those are real LSAT problems. You can learn the techniques in class, but you won't master them until you practice them via hw. Granted, I didn't do *every* problem, but I did most until I felt like a got the hang of the technique we were practicing, and skipped to the end of the assignment to do the last few pgs of the hardest problems.

Agreed on all of this. I did about 70-80% of the homework and pulled a lot of sections out of the practice tests to do a la carte.

Testmasters blows; any improvement you see will in spite of their methods not a result of them, in other words it will just be a function of your time spent with the test and questions. If you're gonna do a course do something else.

Nah, I disagree with this. There's no way the methods weren't helpful, and I'm skeptical of any feedback that says my score is simply a function of time spent. I'm also skeptical of any person who suggests that people taking other prep courses don't put in a ton of practice time/somehow have a shortcut to the high score.

Yeah so hyperbole and stuff, the point being that TM is one of the worst options available as far as prep companies go. Also improving your score is 99% a function of time spent (read: practice) idk why you'd think otherwise. And I never said the bolded.

I'm currently taking the course.

I will say this, the HW is extremely intensive. To the point where it is hard to ever complete an entire assignment on time.

With that said, I power through as much of it as I can in the time allotted and I already feel as if I'm improving tremendously. My second diagnostic is next Saturday, so I guess I'll find out for sure then.

Overall, I'd recommend it so far. I'm definitely glad I enrolled.

If you happen to go to the highest ranked state school in Florida (my username being a hint), I have a $600 off coupon code I can give you.

Which is why I said "suggests" instead of "said".

Anyway, it can't be that their methods aren't helpful--I doubt I would have scored well without them, and I had a great experience. I've also taken a look through PowerScore + Blueprint.

I agree w this, especially considering the ridiculous cost. Can self study for much cheaper and see better results. But to each his own

How much of a score increase did you get schmooky? From the first to last diag, if it isn't too personal?
