Changes To Test and Starting Back Up

Post by Lying Lawyer » Wed Jul 30, 2014 9:20 pm

Hello all. I've been gone for a while. I was studying back in 2009 and 2010. I didn't do as well as I wanted and was prepping for another crack at the fall 2010 exam when I found out my wife was pregnant again. It threw everything upside down. It was going to be impossible going to law school with a newborn so I gave up on it for a while. Then my real estate business starting make a comeback and while business is good I still have the desire to go to law school. I was studying back then with real exams and the bibles. The Logical Reasoning and Logic Games. When I was taking my exams there seemed to be a shift in the games from the style of one key deduction breaking the games open to games with many combinations. So as I get back into studying, apart from buying newer exams what else do I need? Are the bibles I have still ok or do I need updated ones? Is there better study material out there now? Are there any changes with the test to look out for? Thanks.

I used the 2009 LG and LR bibles and I don't think that I've missed out on anything, but I also haven't taken any preptests more recent than the 2008 ones.
I think that it would be interesting to take the preptest that you took back in 2009/2010 (assuming you didn't sit in February) and see how you score on that one as a 'cold' diagnostic today, compared to your official score back then. Please do it, for science.

My last test was September 2009, but I never saved it. If I were to come across it should I be taking it under test conditions?

If you still know everything you prepped for and had a decent understanding of stuff, then I think you should just keep timed conditions. If you're a bit rusty, maybe get back to learning whatever it is you need to aka drilling. Then once you feel comfortable enough, take all the PTs you can under timed conditions with an added experimental section.
