Haven't been around ... MLSAT still considered the best?
I was here a couple years ago a bit and MLSAT was widely hailed as being the best overall. I'm going to sign up for one of their classes soon. Is this still considered the case by most here?

Yes, but a lot of people have recently come to like The LSAT Trainer for self-studying. I personally like MLSAT because it's engaging and has practice problems in the book. They've recently updated their materials, particularly their RC book which I've heard is great. I've never taken a class, but if their materials' quality is at all representative of their classes' quality, then I'd say yeah, they're the best.

I never took a MLSAT class, but I did do testmasters. I know testmasters starts you off with conditional logic (which I know is important) and then sends you home with 40 problems all coming from different problem types giving you almost no instructions on how to answer them, which is why I started the LSAT feeling extremely frustrated and lost. I prefer the trainer (Mike works for MLSAT doesn't he) because he starts you off with answering flaws.

I recall you scoring pretty high in your preptests and just underperforming on test day. I wouldn't recommend a class for anyone in terms of value per unit cost, but I'd especially not recommend it for someone who already scored 161 on the real thing. There is a lot of room for improvement there, but you'd be much better off hiring a private tutor for the cost of the course, and get personalized instruction for the areas you're still struggling in, rather than start from the nuts and bolts with a class full of people who have had very limited exposure.M.M. wrote:I was here a couple years ago a bit and MLSAT was widely hailed as being the best overall. Save your money, or spend that money on a private tutor, and find some people in one of the study group threads with similar score goals to take and review PTs with. I agree with the prevailing sentiment about MLSAT and I think they are great, but don't waste your money on a class.
Also, I don't want to put words in someone's mouth, but I recall distinctly having a conversation with a well-known tutor on the board who worked for one of the big companies who told me that they don't even like classes, but the reason they offer them is primarily because there is demand for classes.
Good luck!

Thanks for the tips, guys and gals. I've just reserved my spot in an MLSAT class. Cawhc, did you look that up or is your memory that good? If so, that's pretty incredible. And I chose the course because a. it's been a while since I've studied, b. I never really used many "strategies" but rather just went with my own instincts, and c. it will definitely help me keep on track. I've got a lot on my plate right now and it was all too easy to put off studying a bit last time. Thanks for the advice though.
