1996 LSAT?
I apologize beforehand if this is an ignorant post.
I just took my first PT from the "10 more actual, official LSAT preptests" book and scored a 148 (really bummed, damn LG).
After taking the test I see that it was the test from the October 1996 LSAT, which means it's nearly 20 years old. Most of the tests from this book are 18ish years old. Are LSAT tests generally the same from 20 years ago? I don't want to practice with these old tests if they aren't like the ones being proctored today.
Thanks!

Re: 1996 LSAT?
They are similar in some ways and different in others. They are also easier in some ways and harder in others.
Basically in my opinion if you divide up all the LSATs into thirds you get this
LG, "Hard" (alot of non standard games), then we had a good long string of LSATs with games that were super standard (maybe one or two "killer" games a year, but even these games had standard set ups) to now it looks like we are getting more "difficult" games because the last two LSATs had games that were similar to the non standard games we had in the beginning
LR, I found the LR sections in the first third of LSATS were "easy", the 2nd set seem to be a bit harder but more concise, and I think now we seem to be getting in LR sections that are not more difficult but take longer to finish.
RC, I find that RC has shifted its difficulty away from the passage and more in the questions.

Re: 1996 LSAT?
I would say that the LG (and the whole test) were easier back then. I remember when I first started studying I found the games impossible and marked games that I found particularly difficult. When I went back to look at those games again, they were extremely easy compared to what I grew used to.
More importantly, I think you should take as many PTs as humanly possible to study for the LSAT and starting with the oldest (easiest) tests makes the most logical starting point because they will be of less use to you right before you are going to take your actual LSAT and therefore want the most recent tests possible.

This topic had been beaten to death. There are SMALL differences but a 170 scorer will be the same across the board, as will a 150 scorer. No one goes 153 on pt23 and then 174 on pt 68 the next day.
