Which PT's should I save strictly for sections vs full PT's?

Post by flash21 » Fri Jun 13, 2014 12:06 pm

Basically, I'm considering throwing in some timed sections soon to my prep, but I don't want to use up valuable PT's either.

What PT's should I save for timed sections and the rest use for full PT's?

That's really up to you. Preferably you'd like to have all the 60's and 70's for full PT's.

but I did timed sections with some of those instead

there is no right or wrong answer here- just subjective ones.

I would save 52-72 no matter what for timed PTs. A word of advice for using sections from earlier tests is don't treat them any differently than timed PTs. This means that you are reviewing them just like test, with blind review ect.

why 52, is there a specific reason for this?

I'll treat them the same as a PT for sure.

I think its 55. I could be wrong though. But, regardless, is that the credited criteria for using sections v PT's?

I would say that most use 41-72 for PTs. I didn't, but taking 30 tests instead of 20 tests isn't really an advantage IMO. Taking PTs is for timing/strategy purposes, the deep review you do on them afterwards is where you really make your gains.
