What do you think: are cough drops counted as a "medical product" on the list of approved things to bring to the LSAT?

I'm taking the test Monday, but just recovering from being sick, so prone to coughing fits that would be quite distracting to myself and fellow test takers. Maybe just keep them in my pocket instead?

This is bad advice. Put them in your bag and be upfront about it. If the proctor cares, they'll make you throw them out before the start of the test. I would play it safe. Email LSAC about it. If they say it's allowed, then print the email and show it to the proctor when you are checking in (before entering the test room).

I had suggested the pocket before I was countered with the bag. So you should really be arguing the other way around. I forgot about the bag rule, so my apologies on that. But let's not pretend like anyone gives a fuck about a cough drop in your pocket.

Although your idea is a good one that has potential to become a mega thread considering that the 'best pencils' thread is still alive and has reached an ungodly number of pages/posts.


OP: cough drops are an allowed personal medical product, just like advil/legal meds, inhalers, tissues, eye drops, depends, anti-acids/pepo or something to prevent nausea, etc. They aren't digital or any other type of device/item that could potentially be used to cheat. You have nothing to worry about. If you really need to put your mind at ease, email LSAC ASAP to ask for official permission/confirmation they're allowed so they'll hopefully get it and respond by early Monday morning with official confirmation.

Instead of stressing about it and the test, have fun with it and try to get a laugh out of a proctor and mess with your fellow test takers that are nosy and look at your bag by putting in a box of ex-lax (laxative) and also a box of Imodium (anti-diarrheal). Then just casually mention that you're making sure to cover all your bases in case there is a $hit your pants weirdo super hard LG on the test like in February that could due to shock and fear could make your bowels go haywire either direction. You could have a lot of fun messing other test takers while waiting and de-stress yourself into a good relaxed for taking the test state of mind at the same time.

I de-stressed myself during the long wait between getting in line until section one starts by joking around with other people and messing with gullible people that were so scared you'd think they were waiting in line to get executed. Once section one began I was happy, totally relaxed and feeling good to go with zero stress except a little bit of minor nervousness the last couple minutes waiting for the proctor finally say "Begin section 1".

Hope your throat feels better before Monday, try to focus mainly on stress-reduction and good luck logic!

I'm only talking about bringing them with you in the ziplock, not about using them other than during the break, that's up to the proctors.
