I think I'm burned out

Post by barnett2525 » Thu Jun 05, 2014 6:05 pm

Hey guys,

I'm registered for the June 9 2014 LSAT, on Monday. I've been grinding PTs like no other. Last week i got a couple 168s and a 169, I passed the 170 mark once a couple weeks ago. I've made it a life goal to get 170+ because I know I can. But today and the day before I just feel too tired and it feels like I can't think, sort of like my head is in a fog. Perhaps I'm going too hard? Half way through the games section today I just tapped out and said screw it. A couple minutes later I took another look at the section and realized that it was a piece of cake. I even spent 5 minutes on one single question only to realize that they were asking for a hypothetical in which S is the only entity on group 3, but the one I drew had "S" in group 2. Needless to say I feel like I'm losing it. Is this burnout or what? I've gotten solid 168-169 for the last week or so until this happened... Am I screwed??? Helllllllp!!!

You aren't screwed. Take a few days off. Do some fun stuff tomorrow and saturday. Sunday, drill lightly, whatever is your fave section.

Or cancel.

This happened to me last June. I was PTing in the mid 170s but a few weeks out from test day my score just dropped and I could not get it above 169. I took the test, just didn't read close enough because my brain literally couldn't bear it and I got a 166. I have taken two PT this time around - the first was about a month ago and i got a 168 on PT70 - but missed four on LG - Ive drilled LG most days since then, brought my sections down to about 20-25 mins going -0 and occasionally -1 and scored a 175 yesterday on PT71. The feeling taking it was so different, I just felt calm and focused. It makes a world of difference. I contribute 100% of my poor performance last year on burnout.
